Patterns for Standee Signs Not Working?

I'm trying to make memorial signs for two neighbors (Mira and Stitches) I lost because of time travel/cycle stuff. I thought I could find patterns online and scan their QR codes in and then use them on the signs. But apparently they don't work for some reason.

Here's the Stitches Pattern I was gonna use:

But after Scanning the QR and then going to the sign, doesn't let put it on the sign.

You can't use QR codes on the standard custom signs, I'm afraid. Most people go through this site and repixel themselves, but since that's someone else's design, you could also make your own signs of the two as there is an option to make a pattern from an image.

If you have an andriod, there's an app you can use to have the game think you own the design.

Okay, I just tried it with the Stitches pattern if linked above and changed the Creator and Town to match my info. Unfortunately, after scanning the new QR, it still wouldn't let use for my sign. Any idea what I might have screwed up?

In order to get it to work, you need to make a qr code and scan it into that site. then press the copy creator button, and after scanning the code you want to display click paste creator

I was finally able to get that Stitches pattern to work for my memorial sign.
