Pattens, patterns, patterns!

I'm hoping that this new game has more room for patters. If Nintendo decides to give us actual paths and we don't need as many patters, that would be good, but I also like having so many outfits and designs for rooms and flags that there really isn't enough room.

I also hope there's a way to transfer patterns between friends. Like if I mail them a swatch via wifi. Come through, Nintendo! Especially without QR codes. I know people have suggested an online board for the swatches, even using an app. But having it in game is so convenient.

2. I ALSO WANT MORE PATTERN SLOTS. I mean, I don't necessarily mind having a bunch of alts in my town to carry the patterns, but it might be nice to be the only human in town and still have tons of space for patterns.

i don't understand why we can't have as many patterns as we want. i mean i guess there should be a limit, but they should at least increase the patterns we can have on one character, cuz right now it's really not enough if u want to have a fancy path, a flag AND clothes, which are three basic things >.<

Well, HHD fixes this issues by giving your character 8 pages of pattern space, and each page holds 15 patterns, so in total that’s 120 spaces to have, much more then the 10 you have now (and still more if you 3 more alts in your town bringing the total to 40)

I’m sure they aren’t going to abandon this idea, but we’ll have to wait until then for more info (I mean they already added the overview guide from HHD....who’s to say that they won’t add more from this?)

And if we don’t get ‘real’ paths, jus let us add sound effects so it doesn’t seem like we’re running on the grass still (well technically, you are...but you know what I mean)

THIS ANNOYS ME SO MUCH!!!! I can't hardly play with my sound on because walking on paths and hearing the horrible grass sound grates on my nerves.

I think it really depends on what role your character takes in this game. Like, it's your job in HHD to design a bunch of different homes, so you definitely need a bunch of different patterns. But if we're mayor again, or something like that, with the size of the town, you don't need a giant variety of different patterns and paths. Having more slots would make sense, and I definitely hope we get them, but with just the one town, we don't need as many slots as in HHD.

Sound effects sound so great, though, I definitely hope we get that.

I have thought about that but I'm not basing it on HHD since the update to New Leaf that implemented some HHD elements left out more. I figure maybe Nintendo is saving them for Switch but with them who knows.

Yeah, some more space for pattens would be nice. Actual paths for the town would be even
better, as you wouldn't waste any space which you could use for other pattens anymore.

Patterns is the one thing that concerns me about AC Switch. The Switch doesn't have a traditional camera (just an IR camera, but that's different). All of those QRs that people have made over the years for New Leaf and Happy Home Designer most likely won't work. They'll probably have a different pattern system, so a lot of patterns will have to be made all over again.

Anyway, I agree. I hope they let you store more patterns. I also hope that you can get a sewing machine item for your house or something. It kinda annoys me that I can't use the sewing machine to scan QRs when Able Sisters is closed.

Something that i'd love is some sort of database where you can access a bunch of fan-made patterns. Like a collection of paths that others have uploaded to the public, and you can find what you want by just searching some keywords or something like that. It would make life SO much easier!! Also, more room would be great! I can finally fill those pesky corner parts of a path without needing to create another character!

Yes, yes so much! I have too many qr codes and other patterns, that there just isn't enough room. I also really wanted to do neat paths, but they take too much room and then there isn't enough for dress patterns.

If they were smart, they would make a companion app either within the Nintendo Switch Online app or a separate thing all together that lets you scan QR codes and send the data to your game from there.

I'd like to have more space for patterns. In New Leaf, I never really got any clothing patterns because the pathways took up all the space. I would love to explore the patterns more or keep a couple path sets in my inventory.

I'm super curious how they'll handle pattern making.......I really don't want to put a hard stylus onto my Nintendo Switches screen, and I don't want to draw the pattern with my fingers either

it would be great to have a town pattern catalogue that could be accessed by all players rather than individual player pattern catalogues. but if we had way more pattern storage space the need for secondary characters with their own pattern storage wouldn't really exist so i guess it's not a big deal if everyone can access all the patterns.

Yup. It definitely would be good if they gave us proper pathways. The bulk of my time spent on NL was creating paths anyway.
