Am I the only one who thinks that making a path is a waste of time?

They look nice but they're a hassle to make and then people get pissy if people move in on the "Precious Path"

SO F***ING WHAT someone moves on your stupid path?! Get over yourselves!

I personally won't have a path. Too much work and in hindsight, kinda pointless.....

Haha, I know what you're referencing.

I feel like ACNL is so different from other animal crossing games just because of how subject we are to everyone else's towns. And it's those perfectly manicured towns with pristine paths and (likely hacked) town layout that make some of us feel like we aren't doing what's best for our town.

I personally like paths cause they help me organize my town and it helps visitors get around easier. If a villager moves in on a path, yeah I might get upset, but other times I look at it as a way to switch things up. But sometimes it's a location that works best for my town and having a 3x3 building in the way can be tedious.

I'm envious of Mayors who can have a very "natural" town unfazed by those perfect towns. I love the feel of towns without order and things grow where they may. But there's something to be said for everyone's tastes ~

I just like paths because it help me where I have to run because I don't want to ruin the grass and I hate walking :p

I like making natural dirt paths. I used to have QR paths but I found it a bit more difficult to lay down how I wanted and it was becoming a chore. But lots and lots of people use them and their towns look great!

I wanted dirt paths, but the upkeep would drive me crazy, haha.

I like paths cuz I love laying them out and putting effort into a pretty town is a relaxing creative outlet for me. I'm kinda addicted to it, since I keep wanting to buy new copies to create different themed towns. This also happens whenever I finish one of my towns.

Anyway, just play the game how you want to. I understand that for some paths and such are a too huge hassle and ruin some of the ACNL experience, but for people like me the main reason as to why ACNL is fun is the chance to customize.

Also about the whole moving on paths thing. That stuff is easily preventable by plot resetting at least 3 times, which is very easy to do as long as you don't have 4 chars

I use dirt paths to make a natural feel and lined up flowers and bushes along them. It only took about a month and a half to get the dirt paths showing but it was worth it. However, I don't cry if a villager plots on my path. Marina did that, so I worked around her house.

I know a lot of people on here have designed paths on their floors, which look absolutely beautiful. It takes a lot of time and effort and dedication to make a town look nice, so when a villager plots in the middle of a path or a scenic area, it can ruin the area. And I sympathize with those who've lost their paths to those sneaky villagers.

And OP, chill, man. No need to be so salty. lol

i have paths because i think they look really nice, but yeah, they're a lot of work -.-

I never used them, but I'm about to have all the villagers I want and so now I can begin designing my town. I try to plan things and do them in an order that makes sense. I'm so happy I can finally feel confident enough to start designing and laying paths!

I love paths! I like how they can change the atmosphere of a town and make everything more interesting. Personally, I love experimenting with different paths and I'm always in awe of other people's designs.

I also noticed that you seem upset about something that isn't that big of a deal in the long run. I understand your frustration, but there is no need to get angry over other people's choices.

It looks like you don't understand why people use paths... The reasons for using a path are to limit grass wear, lead other people through your town (in City Folk this was really useful, as you had to open a menu to see the map) and to have something to line up with. I like lining my paths with flowers, trees or bushes, but without paths I wouldn't be able to decorate in such a way.
Paths aren't there to be pretty - they serve a purpose. And while they're there, you'd prefer them to look nice instead of ugly. As for the villagers moving on your path, it can be a bit annoying but you'd just move them out and be done with it. I agree it isn't such a big deal.
(By the way, if your opinion comes from hate towards the perfectionist ACNL community, paths have been around for much longer, when Animal Crossing wasn't a 'tumblr game'.)

I love using paths, it's true that they can take a really long time to lay out but it's worth it imo. I don't have the patience to walk everywhere so they let me run without ruining the grass, not to mention they look super nice.
