so i always see towns with alot of floor patterns. I was just wondering how do they do this? I mean the maximum amount of patterns you can hold is like 10. How is it that some people can cover their whole town in floor patterns??
There pretty much isn't any other way to do it other than make more characters. Personally, I don't want them cluttering up my town, so I suck it up and stick to ten. It kind of stinks that I can't expand my paths more than that, but I'm just not willing to make the sacrifice of having more character houses in my town. They take up sooooo much room.
I guess they do have an extra plus of also being used for more storage, though. Those are the two main reasons people have multiples in town, I think. That is, unless they're doing a themed town where they need some different "characters" to represent the theme.
It's not that bad to switch characters, if you keep it organised. You can assign different parts of paths to each character. That will make it easier to get entire sections done before switching characters to finish that path. I try to stick to simple paths that don't require a lot of patterns and use the rest to hold other decorative patterns.
I also use the side characters for storage and so their homes add something to my town, so they're not completely useless.
Different characters. Which is unfortunate. I wish we had either more slots to store patterns or the ability to write over a pattern without it changing if we have it saved. :/
