Path Trouble

Hi! So I have never set down paths and don't know much about it. I made the mistake of not knowing you could pick more than one town map, so my map isn't the best and I didn't want to plot reset. I also insanely regret my campsite's position, but what can you do

Anyway here are my questions

• To lay down paths, do I have to make a new character that way I don't overwrite all my clothes designs? Or can I just delete the path after I am done placing it and it will stay the same?
• If I do have to make a new character, if I delete the character once the paths are set, will the paths dissappear or stay?
• Can I set up a path with my mayor and then just store the designs with my other saved designs
• How do you even begin?? Like ??? I suck at everything sorry

1. Yes. The path will not stay the same if you delete it. So I would suggest another character.
2.if you delete the charector the path will delete also.
3.You can save it but it will still delete.
4.start at the Train station possibly?

Most people do create a new character just for paths since most designs take up a lot of pattern space. If you delete/change the path pattern after you've placed it the patterns on the ground will change.

If you delete the character the paths will disappear.

You can store the designs but if you remove or change the path patterns saved on your character the patterns around your town will change.

When I'm making a path I like to look at real life pathways and such for inspiration. I've also seen a few tutorials around for path making so maybe try googling acnl path tutorial or something? Sorry I don't have any on hand!

When I start lying out paths I start infront of the houses I want to keep in the town, like the villagers I don't want to move, and my own house and also the pwp's that I want to have a path to them. And then I slowly, over several days (weeks even on some), I start to connect them in what I think looks best. Sometimes I connect them and then wipe them out and connect in new way, but I always make sure to make sure I am satisfied with one area before moving on to the next. That way I don't have to re-do so much if I'm not happy, only a small area.
