Paper Mario Discussion

So i am in the location of the final boss but i want to level up a bit since i am quite underleveled.
There is one problem though, i can not get out of here! I am now stuck in a room with gears in the background and if i try going back to the hallway i end up on a pillar surrounded by spikes. Is there a way to get out of here or not? If yes please help me hehe...
I have played until here about a year ago and i died at the final boss and now i want to try again so i almost know nothing about the game anymore, just so you know!



EDIT:

There is a yellow ish pole in the hallway on one of the pillars, can i climb it? I can't find a way myself to climb it but maybe i just forgot about a special ability, since i just found out that i am able to turn into a cilinder oops

Congrats on escaping. I could never beat that game. The final boss is crazy. It is my favorite Paper Mario game though. I love the Glitz Pit and the awesome train with the ghost.

But anyway, I LOVE the Paper Mario games! (excluding the rubbish that was Sticker Star ofc)
I didn't play the first one until I got it on the Virtual Console for the Wii U, and I loved it a ton.

And then, enter TTYD. I played this one before PM64 and it just ended up being my favorite game of all time. I love everything about it. I've beaten the game close to 30x and I can just keep playing it and playing it. Definitely touched up on what was missing in the already great 64 version.

I got mad love for SPM too, even though they scrapped a lot of things that made Paper Mario, Paper Mario. It has my favorite soundtrack of all the games and I LOVE the story as well. I'm definitely itching to replay it soon. Maybe when I get my stream going and all that junk haha.

Yea i totally forgot about that! But i am remembering things slowly as play more. For example: i needed to go to Poshley Heights to complete a challenge thingy from the trouble center so i took the Excess Express. What i forgot is that there is just a pipe room under Rogueport with pipes leading to a lot of places throughout the map, including Poshley Heights. I did not mind riding the Excess Express though as i was able to see my ghost friend once again! (hey something that i actually remembered of this game!) Speaking of him, on my initial playthrough with this file i opened his diary and died, i was too curious oops...

Glitzpit is definitely a cool part of the game, i don't like how everyone calls you the "Great Gonzales" though. And it is even worse that the Yoshi baby thinks that it is your actual name!

I accidentally found out im getting Paper Mario TTYD for christmas. This will be my first paper mario game ive played, HYPE. (I love the Mario & Luig series so i bet ill like Paper Mario.)

I think you will like it but it is quite different from the Mario & Luigi series.

Also if you ever get stuck in the game, i will be here! (Even though i forgot like 40% of the game lol)

In TTYD, you can dress up as Luigi in addition to him appearing. Peach is in the game, and one of your partners is a Yoshi. Bowser is also there m8 so there ya go. ;-)

Lars, Jav, you are both wrong. I meant the Nintendo characters from different games. The main Nintendo characters can be your partners. But how do they travel from each different world? With the answered question, crossorbs. They're just like the stars from the original Paper Mario and TTYD, but act very different from them. They are the main source from travelling to different dimensions (Or one of the main sources) A new villainous group plan to make the crossorbs nonexistent, that means no Super Smash bros for instance. Everyone hasn't heard about this, except for Mario and soon to be his new partners, which are the main Nintendo characters. They all join together to try to stop the villainous group from making no one join other dimensions before its too late.

Each chapter belongs to a different world, one from the main world to the other. And the partners include:

Ness
Kirby
Link
New Leaf Villager
Captain Falcon
And male Inkling

The game also has DLC. AKA, bonus chapters.

Don't like that idea? I think its a cool one.

Vivian was always my favorite as well. I always felt sorry for her because Marilyn and Beldam (mostly)were such buttholes to her.

I'm so glad there was a change of heart in the end, though. She was always my favorite to use in battle as well, as I would spam Fiery Jinx quite a ton and it helped tremendously against the Shadow Queen.
