I listened to Palin on the state of the union address.... She thought Obama talking about the "sputnik moment" was saying we should be like the USSR.... I .... am just trying to comprehend what world she lives in...

What he meant by that was that so many countries are passing America technologically and educationally that we need to respond as we did when the Soviets got into space first. We kicked into gear and beat them to the next marker.

And not only this but historically she is even incorrect about the effect on the USSR from making sputnik... this is not what drove them into debt...

I listen to her and I hear the reasoning of a 6 year old. I don't think she even listened... I think she just watched the news coverage after.

Her mind is just convoluted, warped into her own little world. I honestly can't even see where her logic comes from other than she just listens for buzzwords...

Cool story bro'

Don't even understand what you said. But my brain hurts from modifying all my clothes for the past 3 hours :S

Yes. I stopped listening to Sarah Palin well over a year ago. It was clear that she "doesn't know what she is talking about."

I didn't bother listening to that, but I did have to turn off the SOTU. I can't stand SOTUs. They are like pep rallies. A lot of meaningless rhetoric.

I liked watching Michele Bachmann's rebuttal. However, she seemed to be really interested in something behind and to the left of my head. I'm really quite sorry for this, but I think my mom may have helped elect this woman.

Also, this.

All politicians are figureheads of a greater conspiracy, they're told what do say and do and when the memo doesn't quite get through, something like Sarah Palin's goof or Obama's improve without a teleprompter ensue. While they're acting like morons the "government" makes the real decisions behind closed doors.

I'm fairly conservative, but when Palin gets a reality show and still expects to be taken seriously... it's really just a joke.

As much as I don't like republicans for their views on social issues most of the time... I really don't think she can even stand for them any more... If she actually runs for president, then she can count against the whole party... I think it would pretty much crack it in two by the time it would all over.
Either way I feel she is bad enough that I do not want to associate her with other politicians due to what a damaging effect it has on their image to me. Well ok people who think she is worth being VP, and people who try to imitate here are excluded from this. John McCain f'ed up.

I know what you mean. I still believe the "State of the Union" address is still important, but I frequently (including this month) have to turn off the "State of the State" addresses given by my state's Governor. The partison cheerleading is worse at the state level, if you can believe me.

I remember seeing that. And she didn't even say Sputnik, she said, "Sputnut".

Meh. That's what happens when you go rouge.

Rogue*

Rouge is a kind of cosmetic.

Also, "going rogue" is totally a euphemism for anal sex. Unprotected.

I just ignore her now. It helps me live as a human being denying her any of my attention. The thing I'm concerned about is that Rep morgan statement, but that's another topic.

You guys think Sarah Palin is bad? How about Michelle Bachmann... hands down, one of the most incompetent US politicians...

State of the Unions always give me a hard on for whoever is in charge, but I wish that every media outlet gave them some kind of score card for what got done vs. what was promised. The reason these things work is because everyone gets all excited by what the President says, forgets about it in a week, but still has positive feelings even if they don't know why.

Also, the Tea Party rebuttal was hilarious. I thought the Republican one was quite funny as well, especially how when he described Republican values, he was basically describing what his opposition holds true.
