Orchid Mantis Help

I have been looking for months with no luck, I have seen a few but I always ended up scaring them off. Heck, I found one today right next to my house but ended up scaring it cause my net hit my fence. Any tips? I have saved and continued a lot

Just keep at it. What I normally do is put patches of white roses around town and slowly walk to each one, if nothing is there, I save & continue away from them and repeat.

My set up were just 3x3 in a few areas around town and I came across one in about an hour so this will likely work. Just walk slowly so you don't accidentally scare it off!

the orchid mantis has always been hard for me to catch. i tried planting some near-ish my house so i would remember, but not so close that i would run and scare it. khaelis has good advice! good luck.

I somehow managed to get a dang walking leaf before getting an orchid mantis

Orchid Mantises are also pretty easy to find in the Gardening minigame on the island, for whatever that is worth.

Update: I went island hopping earlier cause my island didn’t have that tour, and the first island I went to didn’t have it, but! I found a red wetsuit and I told the people there I was looking for an orchid mantis. Right as I say that someone finds an orchid mantis! So I caught it and went on my way!
