OPINIONS: what are the hardest fish to catch?

I was just wondering what fish people have had trouble catching.

I had some trouble with sharks in the beginning, and now I'm trying to catch a char which has been a challenge because of the angle my waterfall is at.

So, what fish are you having trouble to catch?

I know that feeling all too well, especially when my villagers kept requesting the stringfish

I think I had problems with either the salmon or the king salmon, or possibly the char? One of those waterfall fishies. Like, one guide said you could catch them in the whole river, the other only said the waterfall, and so I got confused from what I remember.

Stringfish and oarfish were hard ones, too, since even though I saw a few that were the right size I could never catch them.

Not sure if this was just coincidence or not, but I found the best way to catch a Char is by standing at the top of the waterfall (the one leading into the ocean) and casting the rod down the waterfall. 95% of the time I do this, there's a fish at the bottom and it's nearly always a char

Probably the King Salmon. I only saw it once, and I accidentally reeled in too early.

I found the Coelacanth in 5 minutes and the Stringfish on my first try! But I remember searching for over an hour for the Pop-eyed Goldfish >.<

I've found dozens of stringfish. XD

The coelacanths isn't too bad, actually. You just have to know what shadow to look for.

In my opinion, i say the coelacanth is the hardest. I've never seen one and when I do, I'm never able to reel it in.

I'd say a King Salmon, I've only seen one once and accidentally scared it by running
