So in my town, Laverre, I was wanting to do a path sort of like the popular clovers with stepping stones, except with mushrooms instead of clovers. My town is going to be set in the fall, so clovers wouldn't go very well (IMO), and in X/Y, Laverre City has lots of mushrooms everywhere, so regardless of using them for a path, I would use them elsewhere. I was just wondering what other people thought of using mushrooms being used in a path in the way that clovers are.

Part of me wants to do it because I think it would look cool and it's different, but another part of me is skeptical about doing it because IRL mushrooms would be destroyed if you stepped on them. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance! c:

wait do you mean the mushrooms would be part of the path or next to it? i think being part of it would look cute depended on what kind of mushrooms you use and what color stone path you use. try it out and if it doesn't look right, then the mushrooms could always go around the paths or somewhere else in town.

Yeah I was wanting to use them as a part of the path. I don't plan on it being the main path, just like whenever there's a pathway amongst heavy trees/flower areas or to get to places off of the main path. c:

And yeah, another concern I had was the type of mushroom to use: all of them? a few? or just one? The famous mushroom is my favorite and I think it would look really cute, but I think it would be too much being the only one used. The tiny mushroom is simple and would go well with anything really, but I also feel like I would want to use one of the brown-topped mushrooms, like maybe the flat one?

I've got a mix of both clovers and mushrooms for my path, I did not use QR codes because I hated the fact that I couldn't match the grass. Yes if you do it right mushroom paths could look amazing!
Have fun! :)

I say why not? it's a video game, who cares if you use mushrooms on paths instead of clovers? doesn't have to be "realistic." sounds cute to me. definitely mix it up, use maybe 3 different ones.

I'm skeptical about using them on the path itself, but I definitely think you should line the path with them. I love Laverre City in the games <3

mushrooms would look make the path look fat, i personally prefer clovers with mushrooms.

They look nice as a border. I'd say use a regular path or a dirt path with mushrooms and/or clovers as a border.

I just visited a DA that used natural dirt paths, and I've seen them before, but have never really considered it due to the up-keep they require, but I've ultimately decided that it's really what I want to do, so I'll find another way to incorporate the mushrooms. c: I'll probably scatter them along the paths and put 'em near trees.

Thank you all for your responses~ <3

Mushrooms alongside a natural dirt path would look super cute.

How do people make the dirt paths though?

You just have to plan out where you want your paths to be and how wide you want them to be, and run/walk over them a few times a day, saving and quitting in between each time.c:

Oh really thats it? Do you know how old they usually take to make?

I didn't necessarily mean natural dirt paths, which are nice too. There are some dirt path qr codes though.

No, I'm not sure. :/

Yeah, I've seen QR codes and I've just never been 100% happy with them. I've also tried making my own, but I just can't get them right. :/

I'm a big fan of using the natural game mechanics animal crossing has, so I'm willing to do the work it takes to have and maintain natural dirt paths. c:

I think it'd look great! Super cute actually, i can already picture a path with some nice famous mushrooms and round mushrooms alongside, that'd be very cute!
