the tier list is kinda rigged anyway, i was using the ac discord and someone was doing a giveaway with a "free entry fee" and the fee was basically you had to use all your votes on roald. he ended up being in tier one after that i believe? lmao.

so anyway, one of the reasons i don't care for tier list popularity. rip.

There is a rant topic you know haha. But also don't take these lists serious as everyone has their own opinion on which villagers are fun to have.

Also most of the people look just to the outside but once one of the lower tier villagers get on their island and they start talking to them they can be fun and cute and all and become even villagers that may not leave again.

I don't really believe those, especially the prices...
I tried to sell both Lucky and Flora (2nd tier) on Nookazon and when I found buyers, I couldn't get nothing near those prices

Anyways. I don't put much thought/care into these. You should be able to like who you like whether they are considered popular or not.
And if what Hedgehugs said is true... well then these things have no accuracy to them anyways. (they still wouldn't either because it's still other people's opinions and not who are actually popular. Not everyone votes or cares about these popularity contests so really the only votes that are going in are from those players that care about these things.)

Yeah I don't pay the lists any mind except for looking at the trends. I find it interesting but it does not influence my island in any way. I pick my villagers all based off of my own preference and whether I like them. A bunch of people like Ketchup and I don't. I like Cleo and a bunch of people don't. Don't matter to me.

Who even made this list? Merry regular goes for under 100 NMT easily, placing her at #4 is not even justifiable. She's a darling and I'd love her but uhhh nobody will pay 400 NMT for Merry lol. Use an amiibo much? She definitely shouldn't be higher than some of the overpriced new villagers like Judy and Dom. Ooof!

I mean, he's a very well designed smug! He's got a great look and name. And, according to Pocket Camp, he changed his name from "Gary". If that isn't the epitome of smugness I don't know what is!

But being smug is rough. It seems you're either a Raymond, Julian, or Marshall... or you're a Hippeux. There doesn't really seem to be much of an in-between

IMO the only villagers that should be worth more than 50nmt are the ones you can't get from amiibo atm. Literally every dreamie I have right now I have gotten specifically from extremely cheap amiibos, but people make bank from trading them despite the fact that they are JUST as easy to get as any other amiibo villager.
Popularity should not be a huge factor when it comes to this.

I'm honestly surprise to see Merry in the 1st tier. Her counterpart, Felicity, is in 5th. I hardly hear about Merry, it's mostly Felicity in the forums here (and she deserves it for being the best, shoutout to all the Felicity fans on TBT ).

What's most shocking is that Barold is above my boy Eugene and so many other more beloved villagers. Shows that everybody really has a place somewhere.

No kidding. I mean, I clearly love Merry. But she's not THAT popular/valuable. I can't imagine anyone ever trading 100 NMT, LET ALONE 400. She's a cutie, but she's also been present in... pretty much every game, I think. So she lacks the novelty of Judy and Dom. And, I mean, I think there are people who would literally get in physical fights over Judy if the opportunity presented itself. Seriously.

Yes. Tier lists be broken af. they don't matter to me, idc all too much ab other people's opinions, but it feels like i punch in the gut to see my darling babies placed so low on the list

Those who are upset their favorite villagers are rated so low should actually be happy. the lower your villagers are the more likely barely any islands have them making your island more unique. when people visit yours they will see villagers they possibly have never seen before making it more interesting

Curlos is cute... but I'm partial to my boy Shep. I don't normally love the dogs, but his design is just SO cute. Also, his hobby is education, and I LOVE how he wears reading glasses. It's like... really, Shep? THAT'S what's going to improve your eyesight?
