Opinions on the 2ds?

I was just curious if anyone had one out there and what their thoughts were on it. I was debating between the 3ds xl and 2ds and went with the xl. I was turned off by the cheaper feel and the inability to fold it but do the pros outweigh the cons for anyone?

I'd say there's nothing about a 2DS that anyone needs unless it's a price thing. Buy one if you need a secondary 3DS system to fart around with. The only thing about a 2DS that I wish the XL had are those 2 red & blue clear pokemon designs...

barely anyone uses the 3D feature.
if someone steps on a 3ds there's a chance that it's broken, too.
3ds screens can also crack (mine did, lmao)
3ds also have small screens unless you buy an XL (sadly there is no XL for 2ds)

pros: it's cheaper lmaoo

It's great for kids. I bought my neice and nephew 2dses after they broke their 3dses. They love them and so does thier dad. I had my XL before the 2ds came out so I haven't put much thought in my personal use. I imagine it would still be fine, as I hardly game outside the comfort and internet stability of my home.

Uhm, no. I said I like the 3DS more right there. I never did say it was a better option, did I? I'm buying the 2DS because It's cheaper and I don't have enough money for the 3DS rn, thanks. It's not like I was trying to pick a fight with anyone (That might have been how my tone was read, though.), I was simply stating that those things listed could happen to the 3DS, too. Sorry if I bothered you, but it wasn't like I was trying to attack them.

That being said I do agree that holding the top screen would be annoying, at least I think it would be. I'm not sure why they decided for it to be flat, but whatever. I would rather have the circlepad + buttons be on the bottom. It looks a lot different compared to the 3DS, that's for sure.

I was tempted to buy the 2ds sea green bundle with mario kart 7 but i decided on the red 3ds xl last minute because there had been a sale. I liked the larger screens but was unsure of the 2ds form factor. I was just curious to see what other people's thoughts were on it )

The mint/white one is adorable, I almost wish I got that!
I was all about hating one until I actually saw it in action. My friend has one, it actually fits into (most of) his pockets, it's pretty neat.

I prefer my 3dsxl in the end though. It would feel weird not being able to close it when I'm done (blame my laptop) and the screen on the 2ds would be too small for me.

Blocky and visually unpleasing. There's no cons over the regular 3DS. It's for kids.

Even though I've never owed one, I hated the 2DS from the beginning, when the commercial came out. Seemed like just another cashcow Nintendo wanted to milk.

that's not really fair to say tbh. i lived with the GBA (SP as well) and didn't have any complaints at that time. now that technology has improved over the years, it's really hard to go back to old outdated designs/technology that just don't look aesthetically pleasing. reason why i don't like the 2DS despite me not having any problems with GBA and whatnot.
