The general layout of the town is not bad. You have a lot space to work with. I would probably move a few villagers houses around so things aren't quite one sided which will give you more land to work with when it comes to landscaping. I personally thing the campsite could have gone up or down a few spaces (I don't like my beach ramps to have anything in front of them, but that may just be me). I would, if/when possible, make a third bridge since it appears you could have a straight line from train station -> mayor's house -> beach ramp -> port.
TL;DR - If it were up to me, I would keep the map and work with it.
Re-Tail is in a perfect spot to trade with others. If you put a bridge that is to the left of your house you would have a nice path from the dock to Re-tail.
My favorite part? Most of your river dips down below the half way point so the top half of your map can have lots of pine trees.
Trust me - I've reset almost 100 times. Many times I like my map but there is not enough room for pine trees. Lots of maps have the river go right through and waste a lot of space.
Also, I like the shapes in your River. Some of maps look ridiculous, but yours looks very natural.
Overall I like your map quite a bit.
But if you decide to reset that is up to you to decide. Good luck!
Thanks guys... I think I'll keep my town -for now- and work on your suggestions. And I really like the idea to add a bridge (if only someone would suggest the fairy tail bridge *sigh*)
