Opinions on my main room?

Hello. I've just finished decorating my main room. I'm okay with it, but I feel it lacks something. The sofa area is by far the most cohesive and well done imo, but the rest of the room looks... sloppy? Idk, tell me what you think

thank you! I'm not too fond of the combination of rugs, mainly the white crochet one. Dark parket all the way though hsh

It looks great, but I think your issue might be that it's too clean, looks like a showcase room like in an ikea store, which is beautiful, but it doesn't look lived in.

Now that you've said it I totally see that. It's all too disjointed. I guess I need to wait until I get a bigger catalog to start filling it with more ''unique'' things.

Yeah I guess so because it looks overly packed in there to me but like I said, I like an open and spacious living area.. Have fun and furnish it however makes you happy.

I really like that rug! It gives the room an elegant and sophisticated vibe in my opinion, haha
I also just noticed that it matches the doily on the small tea table and I like that attention to detail

Try grouping the large painting, wall hanging planter and the little cub (?) photo all together so they look intentional as a group. Then fill out the other walls once you have more stuff. right now the large painting over the doorway looks odd as it isn’t aligned with the door gap below. Adding some other things will make it work.

OH! And btw the place is looking lovely, once you add a few more bits and bobs it’s going to be amazing!

I'd try a different wallpaper. Having the bookcases right up against "windows" doesn't look good. Also the screen and kimono stand don't match the rest of the furniture. Maybe use them in a different room with other Asian inspired pieces?

Agreed about needing a bit more clutter. In addition everything looks a little bit too staged, if that makes sense? If you’ve been rearranging big parts at a time maybe try placing individual items without moving the other things around too much. I find that organic look to be more pleasing for these kinds of rooms.
