Hello friends~! While I'm home sick today, I've taken to working on my gridded map plan for my town. I'm kind of stuck at the moment, though, and thought I'd present my thoughts here and get some opinions or advice c:
Fair warning, this might get a bit confusing!
So, this is my map-plan as it is currently (it's not 100% accurate as far as spacing goes in certain areas).
Key:
Black = Rock
Pink = Path
Brown = Possible dirt path (along the cliff border it represents the space right before my cliff edge).
Maroon = Characters
Red = Villagers
Dark Green = Tree
Light Green = Shrub
Purple = PwP
The area I am focusing on is the bottom right, right below the town square and across the river. My goal is to eventually had a fourth character and have her house be in that area (if it can fit) as well as having a stone tablet nearby. As you can probably tell, the southern portion of town is a forest, and no, I don't intend to keep all of those trees so thickly placed throughout (I haven't gotten to that part of my planning yet xD)
So far I have two thoughts here:
My first thought is that I can remove my angled bridge and move it a bit lower. That way I can bring a path from the bottom of my square directly to the bridge, and from there continue into the forest. If the house can fit I would place it s indicated with a stone tablet where that purple square is.
My main concern with this is whether or not the house can fit (I'm fairly certain it can) and if I like how close the bridge is to the house.
Option two leaves the bridge where it is, has the path from the square with more space directly below it to possibly place something like a bench, and it gives more space to move the house out a bit to the left. My concern with this one is mostly that I'm iffy with the path leading from the square to the bridge, and then I'm not quite sure how/where I'll want my forest path to run.
Any thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated c: (not just for that area as well, feel free to comment on others or ask questions about what something is)!
