Hi all!

So I'm trying to work out my paths and landscaping in my town, Vasaaris. I currently have three residents in my town, Willow (the Mayor), Alice and Beau. However, I still don't have enough slots to run my paths the way I want without completely using up all of one villager's slots, which I don't really want to do since I like having a few slots free for pro designs and patterns for furniture.

Originally I only had three residents so I could still plot reset. I also find sometimes towns can look crowded with four massive houses in them. But now I'm considering having a fourth so I can hold all my path tiles and still have space in my custom design slots for other things. I'm a bit torn about losing the ability to plot reset since it annoys me when villagers move into dumb spots, but I would love the chance to get to decorate another house (and I hoard a lot of stuff so the extra storage space would be great!)

What do you guys think? Is it worth me giving up the ability to plot reset in exchange for better paths?

For me, no, it isn't. I'd be way too anxious every time someone moved in or out and it wouldn't be worth it. But if you're fine with some accidents happening here and there and/or are very confident in your patterns blocking move ins in certain places, I'd say go for it! :)

I say it is, since now it's a lot easier to plot reset if you do the path trick (that is, if you have enough spaces open in the first place)

I love designing rooms (I don't use them to hold paths) so I'm happy I made a 4th character. If I ever need to plot a new villager in I guess I'll just have to use the path trick.

If you have space and confident about the path trick, sure. I used to plot reset, but right now, I just cover the areas with paths. I don't have the space to make a fourth character though lol.

I have 4 characters in both of my towns. Neither seems crowded to me, but I lined them all up on "streets".

I couldn't have a fourth. It would not only mess me up if I ever needed to plot reset again, but I don't have any ideas for them and their house. Unless I get an absolutely ASTOUNDING idea for a fourth house, I wouldn't fill that space with another character.

I have four because I use them for different things, but I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who routinely plot resets.

If you have any plans on plot resetting in the future (which you totally should, it makes organizing your town so much easier), you shouldn't make a fourth character yet.

I'm going to have to agree with the majority. If you are comfortable with the path method, then I would add a fourth house! But, ultimately it is your sole decision. Let us know what you decide!
