opinions on bob?

ah, bob... such an icon. i've had him in every AC game i've owned. my friend who's new to the series finds him really boring. what do you think? do you think he's overrated? i ADORED him in WW and NL, but NH bob seems somehow..flatter than he was before.

he's one of those villagers i don't really care if i have him or not
i like lazy villagers, cat villagers and the name bob but he's kinda meh

I feel like there's a lot of characters that were so distinctly charming in other games that have become much more child friendly and dull in NH. The snooty and cranky villagers especially :/

I think he could be a fun villager, but I'm afraid I just don't get the hype. He just looks like a normal cat villager. I used to enjoy him more but it got shoved down my throat by an ex friend and now I don't really like Bob at all

I do think he's overrated, but I also believe he's earned it. I remember when I was on this site during the time of New Leaf, he wasn't very popular. Some people were on a mission to make him popular, and I guess they succeeded, because now a lot of people like him.

i totally agree. they definitely made the game more kid-friendly, which is strange because it seems to me like NH has the most adult audience of all the games so far

It's because lazy personality feels flatter. It has nothing to do with Bob in particular. All lazies are that way.

I used to love the lazy personality, but now not as much. It's not just the bug talk either. They just don't feel as endearing somehow.

I do really enjoy Bob, but I'm not seeking to have him on my island. I would really enjoy it if he was there but then again I already have 2 lazy villagers and it will get really annoying.

Bob is one of my all-time favorite villagers, going back to ACGC. He was in my first town and for me he is a very sentimental part of all of my Animal Crossing memories. I will most likely move him into my town eventually.

i would love to have him on my town if he wasn't lazy since i already have zucker and i'm trying to reduce any dupe personalities on my island rn :3
