opinion on towns with no path?

I like visiting towns both with & without paths. It's fun to see how others decorate! To be honest, I originally hadn't planned to put a path in my town but I ran around my town so much that I barely had any grass. I really like the grass and was upset with myself that I hadn't taken more care where I had gone. It's embarrassing to admit but I put a path down to break myself of eroding all of my grass. I have OCD so I knew if I saw a path I would have to follow it for most of my movements. I do still go on the grassy (recently snowy) areas to look for fossils, the money rock & to water hybrid beds but for just getting around town I always stick to my path. Now that the snows gone I've very excited to see that most of my grass is back! For me having a path wasn't about what others saw on my DA or on an actual visit. It was about was I was seeing and doing in my town every day. I hope that doesn't make me sound rude or selfish. I do care what others think about my town but as far as laying my path goes that was for the sake of my town's grass & my own sake. I'm sure whatever you choose will look great!

I think towns without paths have a really chill vibe, if that makes sense haha. I really like it :blush:

Today I dream visited a town called Vista and was very impressed with the paths. I didn't want to wake up.

i used to have really strong natural paths but i stopped playing as frequently (i used to play every day, and now i have periods of abandonment lol), and the grass grew back. i covered my path with staggered clovers, though, so i still have "paths," but they're no longer dirt paths

i think dirt paths look really nice, but its hard to make them appear... i don't think maintaining them is that hard if you run over them almost every day, but otherwise they're hard to restart

I haven't really seen many without paths.

same here. i still see dirt paths and clover path sometimes, especially with forest towns.

@OP:

dirt paths do take alot of time and work into them. winter really destroys the dirt paths. using clovers might be a better idea, you just need some tbt or bells to buy them here, and you won't need to suffer trying to keep your dirt paths perfect.

i don't think ive ever seen a town with absolutely no path unless they're brand new, though, so i have no opinion for that. Good luck!

The only thing keeping me from having them is:
Villager move-ins *shakes at the horror*
But I love how they look!!

Mine has always been natural dirt paths.
Just wearing them in again after the snow.

I don't have paths in my town. I never want to walk on them and it just feels more like the authentic animal crossing feel when there are no paths. Probably because I spent my whole childhood running amuck in Wild World with no paths.

I was the same as a kid, but with the Gamecube AC. I think paths can look really nice if they are integrated into the scenery well(i've seen some really cool ones on here and Tumblr) but sometimes I feel like people just have paths..to have paths? IDK I've seen lots of towns with paths that look nice on their own but look really out of place against the rest of the ground(like the 'seams' are showing and they just sharply end in front of a building or something).

I'm probably going to just use dirt paths in my town with plants bordering them, if I do put down paths.

I don't have any paths. I prefer a natural look and besides, I'm kinda lazy. ;)
