Opinion on K-POP? (Korean pop music)

Actually, I'm only really into YG. I love Tablo (*u*), 2NE1 (which really has helped me through a lot), and BigBang. I used to listen to 2AM, SS501, and some songs from Korean Dramas I watch. For some reason, I never got into Shinee..

my friend absolutely loves it. I don't listen to it much, but from what i've heard of when I've been around her it sounds pretty neat - but I listen to songs for the emotional meaning so I don't think I'd ever get into K-pop

understandable- my bf doesnt get why i like it, i guess cause of the music itself and not so much the words lol

Korean pop is heavily influenced by American music though.

It's okay. Not my favorite genre, but It's not that bad.

I like a large variety of music, but k-pop is definitely a large portion of it! I like k-pop very much; more than American pop. Also, you should all listen to k-indie! ^^; It's very catchy to me. Big Bang is my favorite!
Other favorites include: 2ne1, SNSD, DBSK, Tablo, SHINee, Boyfriend, Super Junior, and many more!

Also, J-pop is extremely different from k-pop in my opinion. J-pop is more cutesy, high pitched, quirky. K-pop is catchy and much like original pop music.

Korean Pop sounds like any old music/genre to me (Not sure if me being half SK has an impact). 65% of the songs are mostly about the opposite gender, which I find really annoying and old. Focusing on the artists though, I have to admit that I don't like any female group or soloists except for IU. .

My alltime favorites are: SHINee, B2ST, B.A.P, SuJu, and Henry

yeah definitely ;; the chasing the girl/trying to get oppa to like you lyrical thing does get kinda old. IU is really good

im not into much k-indie ^^; i like a lot of pop songs and hip hop type songs. CL's Baddest Female was my fav for like 3 months straight (surprisingly now my fav song is Crawl by Childish Gambino ;u and then Shinee's misconceptions of you - man i listened to that whole album for at least 3-4 months. i still like it!

however i do not find myself getting into hello venus, 4minute, vixx, bap, girls day, a-pink, or sistar even tho i do like some members like hyorin, naeun, lime, hyuna, and jongup ^^

Kpop is okay. It's not my favorite but I don't hate it. I don't actively take time to find new songs but If I hear a song I like I'll probably listen to it again eventually.

I actually have several SNSD posters ^^" I love CL's baddest female too, that was amazing. She has so much swagger. Lee Hi's song Rose has been a favorite lately. GD's Coup D'Etat album was incredible. I'm a Sone over everything else though, so soshi rules :3.

my boyfriend lol. hes the same. he goes, "why do you listen to it if you cant understand it? why would you like it if you dont know what theyre saying?" i only know parts of phrases here and there but for the most part i like the music for the music and not really the lyrics

I consider the majority of people actively involved in the fandoms as obsessives rather than simply fans. They're scary. D:

Of the newer/younger groups, I suppose I should mention that I've an eye on NU'EST. You'd think I'd have thought to mention it already given that I've a clip from their Sleep Talking MV in my signature. Their first two releases implied they were going to take a fresh stance on the boy band concept, but they seem to be sliding backwards.
