I used to have him. He was my second smug choice after Pietro plotted badly. He was cycled out as apart of my 16 villager cycle. I personally am not a huge fan of the designs of smugs and Julian's was one of two alternates i could "deal with". He was a nice villager to have around and he really did fit the personality well. To me it is all about the design of the villager and if you really like him, i say go for him. His semi-overatedness is justified. There are very few smugs/uchi's compared to the other 4 personality types so your selection is limited and he is definitely worth it C:

I absolutely adore Julian! He was a dreamie of mine, and I was so thrilled when I finally got him! I love horses, and unicorns are just that much better! His design is so cute, and along with his house design he's just so magical. My town theme is kind of like a magical forest, so he fits in really well with that as well. I wasn't too thrilled with his personality when he first moved in, but as my friendship level increased with him he because so sweet and lovely to have in my town. Personally I would never let him go, but that's just my opinion!

To me, Julian is just a horse with a small horn on his forehead and slightly freaky eyes. His catchphrase "glitter" makes him even less mature than he is supposed to be as a smug. Why did he deserved such a hype back in the first months after the game released is boggling my mind.

I think he's fabulous.

Boggles your mind? Maybe some people are just happy to see a unicorn in AC, because unicorns are fun? ;) Relax a little!

I don't like the horses generally except a couple. I had him in two different towns and felt completely differently about him in each. the first time he was part of my theme and I really enjoyed him, he was very sweet and gentlemanly and friendly. In the other town he was a random move in I picked up from street pass and I hated him. He was super creepy and too forward and said a lot of uncomfortable things.
I've also had multiple Shep's because I LOVE him (3 I think, maybe more) and although my current one is definitely more forward with me than my previous ones he has never made me feel like he was a creeper the way Julian did the second time I had him.
I'm sure that some of this is the natural variation between towns and how a personality is represented, but figured I'd share my experience.
Julian is very pretty, but he kinda scares me now...

I have Julian in my town and I like him. I must admit I am not very picky about the villagers although there have been a few I didn't care for. I never really had "dreamies". Julian was a starting villager in my second town, so when he pinged to move I moved him to my main town.

ohh no julian is a total cutie!! while hes not a dreamie of mine hes still a really great design and his house is <33 haha

I think throwing him in your town would be cure with the theme :3 Julian is very cute and flirty, fitting perfectly with the theme. <3 Julains not my favourite villagers but I do really like his design.

...meh XD he used to be a dreamie but his smug personality did not rlly fit him much...

I'm rather meh about him. I was doing campsite resetting (just to get 10 villagers before trying to get rid of Knox) and he showed up, but I just...wasn't impressed with him.

I had him for a while but I kicked him out once he started making googly eyes at Savannah.

When I first saw him I was all flailing and squeeing about him being a unicorn, but beside him being a unicorn I don't like his looks much xD I think he will fit into your town though with Frita and Merengue :)

He moved into my town about a month ago. I like him although I don't like horses. It's the same with Drago and alligators.

I love reading about things like this, because I find psychology, and how our minds work, fascinating.

I mean, obviously, they designed him a certain way, and he says the exact same things always, but in 2 different situations, you got 2 totally different vibes from him.

Same with those of us who have had good experiences with him and love him versus the people that say he's boring or whatever. It's mostly personal preferences, but it could also just be that in certain towns, or in certain situations, he can be super cute or super annoying, also depending on people's perception of him to begin with.

I've also heard people say they like a certain personality type, but not liking one villager with that personality, because it just didn't fit. For example, I didn't like Flurry, and assumed I hated the normal personality type. But I love love love Merengue, Fauna, and Tia. The same words out of Flurry's mouth made me want to smack her a little. But I think the other 3 are so sweet, calm and friendly. I guess I just didn't like Flurry for whatever reason. XD

he is too girly in my opinion, the smugs to me seem to be the second most mature of the male personality types and i don't think he fits that too well unless you want a creepy flirty sparkly unicorn to fit your theme lol

Meh. Don't really care for him. I dislike all of the horses with their giant heads, but Julian is one of the okay ones.

I mean. I don't know....He exists. He's a unicorn, but so many people have him. So, there's nothing special about having him...He's kind of a novelty...I guess. He's just a smug villager. I don't know. Ed, is cool. He's kind of like Julian, except he's not a unicorn and doesn't seem as flamboyant. So, I guess they're not really alike. It's ultimately your choice. My opinion: He exists. That's it.
