Im new to this and Im so confused do i need online membership to visit friends?
and what if it isnt available in my country . plz hlp..

To visit your friends online, yes, I believe you would need a membership. I'm not sure about local, however.

For local play, nope, no Nintendo Online needed. However, if you want to go online, then yes, a membership is required.

is it required to use custom clothing codes from acnh as well, or just for the old acnl qr codes? i’m confused about what i can and can’t do without the membership ;; if i wanted to use a code someone posted to get clothes, i would be only be able to do that with the membership or is that available to everyone?

From what I understand, you don't need the membership to use designs from New Leaf or Happy Home designer, but you do need the Nintendo Online app which you need to link to the game. I think you can only use those designs on basic things, so you can't make a Pro design outfit with them. For downloading others' NH designs you do need the membership.

Oh I didn't even notice this thread was started in April I was replying to chamsae, hopefully it can help others that still don't know how it works. Even I didn't know until I looked it up haha
