One project suggested in an entire month??

I'm facing a ridiculous problem now So far I only have ONE public work project suggested throughout the span of ONE month......... in fact, that means I only got one suggestion since I bought the game. What is going on??? I even go to the extend of holding FIVE villagers hostage at once by digging holes all around. I waited for 15 minutes but still nothing. Why... I love my villagers so much that I always fulfill their daily requests.

I usually get one a day or one every other day. Try to go somewhere (the beach preferably), hang out there for a few minutes and walk past every villager that's outside. Repeat if necessary. I usually get a PWP suggestion within half an hour. If this doesn't work just try again the next day. Good luck.

I find playing at night helps get more requests-I had 5 requests in one night. I think there is a technique using diving, but cannot remember what it is :3

^you don't necessarily have to go diving, you just need to be away for a few minutes. Make sure your pockets are filled with shells or flowers (something your villagers won't want to buy) and make sure there's no money on you so they can't *ping* you to sell you stuff. This should work.

Ok, I get one a day, and I rarely have full pockets. I do notice that I get them the most while I am doing an activity, especially watering the flowers. Maybe because I am doing something to beautify the town, they suggest something to beautify as well? I don't know, I really don't go looking for them.

I've gotten two requests in the last week. For some reason Curt requested both of them, the other night he requested a solar panel and tonight he requested the light house!!

I've had great success getting a suggestion usually everyday. About once a week I get too bored of trying and give up though.

Step 1: Put all your bells in the ATM or storage.
Step 2: Put all items in your storage box. Tools are ok to hold though.
Step 3: Go find whatever villagers are walking around outside and run past each once to see if they "!!!!" you.
Step 4: Grab your wetsuit and go swimming. You can dive for fish or just sit there in the water. Stay for 5-10 minutes. Try to get stung by a jellyfish once. Make sure to dive for a fish and catch one before you get out.
Step 5: Release whatever you caught so a villager won't want to buy it.
Step 6: Go run past your villagers. Chances are at least one will "!!!" you. If none do, that means you didn't stay in the water long enough. Go back to the water and try again.

You may have to try several times as your villagers will probably ask for a new catchphrase or to show you a letter. I usually get a suggestion within a hour,max. It helps if you watch T.V. or surf the internet while doing this cause it gets boring sitting there in the water.

That sucks. I get a lot of requests - 6 per week! (One per day, lol..)

I do this and it works 7/10 times.

Been trying for a little while today to get pwp request by just running around and then I tried the wetsuit method and the first !!! I get is a pwp for a pyramid! Going to do this every day until I get stuff I want. Thanks.

My routine consists of only just swimming out as far as you can go, dive once (not after anything, just dive) - I don't know if this is necessary, but it's just one button to press, so whatever. And then hang out there for 5 minutes. I set my timer just before jumping in the ocean. This usually gets me one ping.

I tried standing in the train station to see if that would work, as some say that you just need to stay away from your people for a bit, but it didn't work for me.

yeah, going into buildings or main street resets the "timer". so it's best to just go into the ocean.

2 questions though.

You'll have to stay in the water 5-10 minutes. Does it matter if I stay like...15 min? or is that too long?

Is it ok to "trap" villagers by digging holes around them? So it's easier for me to find them...
or will that mess up the "!!!" getting
