I bought all my dreamy cards, not counting the ones I already have. I can now sell the earlier towns in which I made... questionable mapping choices, build new towns and reload my villagers. So now I guess the update means freedom for me. Freedom to restart without losing my most beloved AC family. Pretty cool stuff.

Has the update caused you to make any new decisions about your towns?

Nope. I don't collect ac cards but I want to, and even if I did I wouldn't restart because why? all that plot resetting and trying to get wanted pwps, not so bad rock placement, and badges etc. the only decision I really made was making a path to my campground which happens to be right next to retail, no big deal but its kinda annoying to place trees to make it look good.

I heard somewhere that they no longer put their houses on top of qr code paths, I'm not sure how extensively this has been tested, but if it's true, plot resetting is over and you can control where villagers move in by paving things over

Both, I bought many card packs when they first came out and picked the rest of the villagers up on eBay.

This update is seriously tempting me to pick up an NFC reader and start collecting cards. I really don't feel it's possible to get my dreamies any other way because no one will move out and I've been waiting for days.

Ive heard this too, but we need someone to test it to actually know...

Life will be so much easier if this is true.

The update broke all my hacking tools, so it kinda just halted progression of my town. I've been meaning to find motivation to learn how to install CFW anyway, though, so maybe it was a sign.

It's motivated me to start actually playing properly again...and I'm going to do over my whole town with a theme as I'm having all LOZ villagers move in. Also gave me the kick I needed to get rid of the load of stuff I have all over my town. I need the extra space now for all the new items, will just do a big cheap sale for the rest
