okay, so I caught a tarantula and I'm freaking out. Not at the fact that it ran after me but the fact that it didn't. It was my first time seeing it and I was kinda anxious because of all the stories, but maybe this tarantula is just weird. I saw it near some bushes and the top of the screen, it moved up a little out of the screen, I took out my net waiting for it to run to me but it didn't... It came back down closer to me and I was freaking out omg, but still didn't do anything so I decided to go it to, I just walked and it just looked at me and I caught it, it didn't attack or anything o.o

If you don't run and don't have your net out they won't attack you. You can tell if they are agitated because then they walk faster. If you walk slowly and take out your net when closer and standing still they won't attack you so without knowing it you adapted the perfect strategy. If you miss the net by the way it will also come for you.
haha I heard they chase you but this one just stared into my soul and wanted me to catch it o.o

Congrats on catching your first Tarantula without getting bitten! I only found 1 this June, I was bound to catch it like everybody else, but it bit me like everybody else.

If I recall that's similarly to how I caught mine. XD I just kinda had my net and walked up to it and swung. It didn't even notice me I don't think.

I just caught one last night after days of trying. It chased after me 3 times and my heart was beating so fast! Then I went for it, my net missed and I ran for my life! Finally 1 hour and a half later I caught one! I have never been so happy in my life as crazy as that sounds! But I never once got bit!

Tarantulas... it's like a cowboy fight, you know? It's looking at you... you're starring at it... and as you get closer it's spitting on you... you're going slowly, net out, the A button pressed so hard it hurts your thumb... and when you make the final move, and catch it, you can finally breath.
I've catched a few myself. Not so hard when you get it. Good luck to everyone! ~
