Actually, I'm almost sure it's 10, sadly.

I've had 10 villagers for almost 6 days.
THE GAME JUST CAME OUT!!!! You should just wait.
I think Spikehawk is right. I say, So far, most of us have ten villagers. If one of them moves out, Then the maximum is ten. But just wait. There may be more ;)

i'm convinced that the limit is 10. i feel like GC's 15 was too much to handle, and WW's 8 was just enough for such a small town (also made it easier to get their portraits!!).

something else to consider... once genji moved in (#10), all winnie began to talk about was wanting to move out. it seems like all of us only have 10 now and we seem to play fairly often each day. i thought 10 might be too much, but i feel like i know all 10 of them really well now... well, you know what i mean.

but yeah, the signposts have always only indicated where villagers could potentially move in. it made for some variety in my opinion when they wouldn't occupy the same space as the villager before them.

I read somewhere that it's ten too. I have signposts everywhere, if I had THAT many villagers I'd die from trying to talk to them all/deliver things/write letters. I think we're all pretty dog-gone sure it's ten

The maximum in the AC:PG was 15? I thought you had to have 15 to get a new bridge, and I know that for a fact, but I could of swore I had more villagers than 15 at one point.

If you have a total of '28' signposts than you can have that many villagers, but keep in mind, you won't always have all the sign posts taken, and 28 villagers=major headache.....><

I think the 28 sign post is the fact that there are 28 spaces for Animals to put their houses, but only 10 can be in the town at a time.

I don't think you're familiar with Nintendo's slogan:

"If it ain't broke, downgrade it."

I hope I'm wrong. Literally, I do. Also, I got the game 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago, I accumulated 10 villagers FAST.

I believe the limit is only 10 villagers.

I haven't gotten a new villager since Goose moved in back on the 19th.
Where did you hear that at?

And if the limit is ten villagers, that's seriously pathetic.
I started with six villagers(Rodeo, Antonia, Chevre, Pippy, Rasher and someone else), then over the next four days Gabi, Goose, Alfonso and Becky moved in, capping the village out at 10 residents. No more have moved in since then either.

And 10 residents is a fine number. It's not as daunting as the 16 or so villagers you got in the Gamecube game and is slightly more than what Wild World had.
10 isn't fine. 16 isn't "daunting" especially in a town so large. This is the wii, the DS had obvious limitations as far as space, and it had 8 villagers in a town at least twice as small.

10 villagers? No. And this game seems to be more random with who moves in, decided, most likely, by how far the player is in the game.

Khengi - how did you get it 2 weeks ago? That's a week early.

My bad, typed that message on the Wii. Need a USB keyboard >_<

Anyway, it still stands. When I got it, the other villagers flooded in and capped ten in a matter of a few days.

It's been a nice amount of time since then.

It still doesn't make sense that 10 is the maximum, despite all signs. There is no PROOF yet, since everyone has owned the game for the same matter of days.

The REAL proof would be this; has anyone tried MOVING OUT of your hood yet?

Moving out? O_o

Can't say I have. We can all wait about one more week from today. If at least one villager hasn't moved in in that time, assume the worst. I check the map everyday to see that 11th person, hoping that if THEY'RE there, then more will come.

This is false as in the previous games theyre were extra signposts even if you had the max number of villagers.

We all know you can't fill every post, but at least half of them.
