One of the "best" Legend of Zelda games is now available to be downloaded to your Wii U (at least in NA)! Are you guys going to download it? Think they could have picked a better game?

I won't be getting it since I already have OoT on 3DS, but if I didn't, I'd probably consider it.

As some of the people from Miiverse noticed, the Wii U VC emulation of the N64 game is slightly better this time around, partly due of having extra hardware power in comparison to GCN and Wii.

First off, the sound is no longer crackling on occasions. Then the overall music is generally less louder than the Wii VC and perhaps N64 version, therefore you won't have to worry on the music getting way louder than the sound volume. There are also fewer instances of frame dropping, most of which also originated from the N64 version.

I still would recommend getting The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for pretty much any newcomer who happens to own any 3DS model over the Wii U VC version, because the massive graphical overhaul, overall better gameplay and portability make the 3DS version a better deal even though you could shell up to forty bucks. Did I mention that there's also the Master Quest for super players?

no, its one of my least favorite zelda games + ive already played the N64 and Wii versions

A lot of people were replying to their post saying they would have rather had A Link to the Past, since it seems like everyone already has OoT in some way or another. It's a great game, but it does seem like most fans already have this game by now.

I already have that installment on a lot of systems. I'd prefer they release Link to the Past instead.

A Link to the Past released on SNES, GBA, Wii VC and Wii U VC so far. Even though that the 3DS can't access this game, gamers still got plenty of opportunities to choose from.

Then I don't know why people were complaining if it's already been released on WiiU. Maybe I was just reading too quickly. I like that they reboot the classics for newer consoles, but sometimes I just like playing the old games for the heck of it.

I wonder what takes them so long to get first party games like these on the Virtual Console.

^ Yeah, I was gonna say, A Link to the Past was one of my first purchases for my Wii U. It's been available on it for awhile.

What I'd rather have is the N64 version of Majora's Mask. I didn't care for the 3D Remake and I seem to have one of the copies of the Collector's Edition for GC that doesn't care to run Majora's Mask for more than an hour without freezing up.

Or Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, now that they're doing DS games. :v

Though I may still buy OoT for my dad to play through it again.
I have the GC version, but he doesn't like switching between controllers too much, now that he's mostly settled on using the Wii U Pro controller and a 360 controller.. I don't wanna confuse him, lol.

i was gonna get this for 3ds, but seeing that the wiiu version is 35€ cheaper than 3ds i feel a bit ripped off since both are digital and just a port of the n64 game. really dissappointed, that they didnt adjust the price downwards when they released it for 9,99 on the wiiu. so i won't be getting either sadly.. (glad i didnt buy it earlier)

I spent a lot of hours playing Ocarina of Time on my Wii U. This was actually my first time I played a Zelda game. I'm 17 years late to the party, but I'm finally in.

Yeah, I played the games a little when I was really young and didn't understand them much. But then I got older and gave them a try again and I love them. It's better to be late to the party than never show up.

Aside from the obvious changes -- like the gyro controls for aiming, the improved graphics, the updated hud to suit a handheld, and pretty much the only acceptable 3D graphics on the 3DS -- it's still a hell of a lot more than "just a port."

The Gamecube/Wii/Wii U versions are an emulation of the N64 version, and barely worth the $10.

The 3DS version is a full blown remake, and well worth the $40.

I don't see the point in getting it honestly... I havee the remastered one on the 3ds. I guess if you want to play on a large screen that would be a plus, but I honestly do not care. I like curling up in bed with my 3ds o3o
