Obtaining bugs on tour

Are you able to obtain any of these bugs on tour and take them after the tour has ended still in your pocket?

• Giant Petaltail
• Migratory Locust
• Rice Grasshopper

I missed donating these bugs to the Museum in August. ._.

You should be able to if it's anything but a bug hunting tour. The giant petaltail might only rarely spawn though.

Any tours held on a town map, really. So fossil hunter, hide and seek, gardening, etc.

I know you can't get one or three. At least, I've tried a lot over the past few months and never saw them. I'm not sure about the migratory. I'm not missing it, I don't think, and I started in November.

I don't know about them but if you find them on a tour then you can catch them and take them with you. The only exceptions are bug tours because it instantly releases them. If it's anything else, just go up to the gyroid and borrow a net, then catch the bugs you want. They'll be in your inventory and you can put them in the little basket by the counter, they'll be in the basket on the dock when you land back in your town. Which tours are best depends, I think it's more of a seasonal thing and I've noticed some maps tend to be different even in the same season so it's probably kind of random which species you get.
