Oarfish Tips?!

One of my villagers requested an oarfish. Naturally, I agreed because I went fishing and caught a few of them while trying to get squids for the re-tail. But TODAY I can't catch a single one. Went to the island and caught two Napoleon fish (that are also rare) but not a single oarfish.

Any tips guys? PLEASE!

Best I can think of is save and quit. Don't need to go to island for it. Look for good ole sea bass on steroids. Good luck. I've quit telling them I'll get them stuff like that.

...Right? I miss the days when it was just any old river fish...

Just caught it and gave it to my villager...I got a trunk

...at least it proves I'm a dedicated mayor? Hopefully they ask for a lighthouse soon or I'm gonna explode haha.

LOL If they ask me for something like that, I say I will and then don't give it to them if I can't catch it. They never seem peeved BUT, I've started keeping one or two rare fish and bugs in my storage for when a favorite villager (or if I'm trying to get their picture--rare fish and bugs supposedly up their friendship) asks for one. It takes the "stress" off me.
