Get rid of them?
Keep them?
Breeding ground for a third world war?
What are your thoughts on them? Do you believe no countries should have them? Or all?
Should they stay at nuclear parity?

I think we should keep enough for defense. It would be better if no one had them, but that's impossible.

solid enough logic. but when other people think the same way, OH *censored.3.0* WE HAVE TO GO AND TAKE OUT THEIR NUCLEAR WEAPONS OR ELSE WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE

but yeah, not being existed to begin with woulda been best solution. *censored.3.0*ing scientists, always messing *censored.2.0* up.

I think that they should be destroyed all over the world, but that isn't going to happen. The Earth will be destroyed by a nuclear war probably soon in the future.

Well, there are many ways that nuclear power can hugely benefit our lives. But at the same time, in the wrong hands, one mistake or scheme will only cause destruction. I appreciate what nuclear power can do to help the world, but I'm also aware of what it could do to destroy. For that, I believe we could live without it.

STOP WITH THE SERIOUS PROBLEM THREADS

Unless you're looking for flame wars.

Nuclear stuff should be only used for good.

Why? This is actually something we all could talk about and discuss. It's an important subject.

you are the reason why this kind of thread is necessary on tbt.

otherwise, it kills your iq. and that's bad.

the problem is, nuclear anything existing means it can, and will, be used by those who have "impure" motivation, and our paranoia will always build up, eventually making us question what other people are going to do with their power before we can use our power.

oh boy it's like i'm actually a spanish explorer looking for land for the queen.

Everyone should get rid of their weapons at the same time.
And then we could fly to Care-a-lot on rainbow unicorns for teatime with the Care Bears.

No but seriously, people need to agree on something; only disaster/a domino effect can result from the use of nuclear bombs. :L

We're damned if we keep them, we're damned if we don't.

We can't create a fermetic barrier of nuclear weapons around the U.S., it would cause other nations to lose all trust in us.

While, at the same time, we cannot fully eliminate all nuclear arms: what about the extremists that wish to destroy us?

If anything, the entire world should gradually eliminate nuclear weapons altogether, for example: at first, every country reduces their nuclear arms to 100, then 80, then 60...and so forth.

No.

The reason behind these threads, is to get those *censored.2.0*ty, pointless threads you have currently occupying the front page of the new posts board, out of the way.
So the members of this forum have something to actually discuss.

Yeah, let's just talk about Courtnee's face.

No but in the grand scheme of things nuclear weapons can be bad if they're used for malicious purposes. For defensive methods is another story, though I think the world would be better off without nuclear weapons altogether.

I'm against them, normally because:

What if a mistake goes wrong while they are repairing/inspecting parts of the nuclear power?

That'd make our world end.

Another thing is that many hackers could detonate them.

fix'd.

BUT THEN THE ANIMALS. OH NOES.

I'm torn.
One one hand, there's always going to be someone crazy enough to use them, so self-defense may be necessary, but on the other hand, a massive amount of nuclear weapons is an absolute breeding ground for escalations of small conflicts.

North Korea is a great example of both of these. They're nuts, and seem to be perfectly willing to nuke someone, but on the other hand, without nukes, the whole thing would have a lesser chance of getting out of hand.

Nuclear = Good/Bad
Nuclear Weapons = Bad
Nuclear Power = Good/Bad
Weapons = Good/Bad
Weapons used to hunt and eat = Good
Weapons used to defend = Good
Weapons used for crimes = Bad

here is the thing.... they exist, and if only the people willing to commit atrocities had them then there would be no way to keep them in check really.

Plus what if an alien invades? Remember Independence Day? Fictional united states needed them to save the world!

When they were used, it was pretty horrible, but if the war we were in continued it really could have been just as bad if not worse. It was a hard call, horrible outcome, but it ended a horrible war that cost so very many lives.
