Not resetting......but burning everything to the ground?

Really wish we could have more than one island on one console.
I like how my island is but I do wonder often just what I could make if I tore an island asunder and then re-made it entirely with terraforming.
Too many ideas, not enough islands.
I think this might be my issue as well :0 I feel like if I could have another island Id be more happy w keeping my current island as is

"Too many ideas, not enough islands" is exactly my feelings

I'd like to be able to disable autosave as well.

If the game didn't autosave every 90 seconds and you had to actually press something to save the game, I'd be much happier tearing things down and rebuilding, safe in the knowledge I can just hit reset if it all goes pear shaped.

Yep, I designed my island and terraformed once it was unlocked. Then, the bushes were released and I destroyed everything. It's basically a cataloging island until I figure out how I wanna design it. All the flowers I had and a handful of trees are by the heart pond. I gave away my hybrids and sold the common ones to the store. For river fishing, I just use a NMT to go on the island tour if any of my friends aren't available for me to go to.

this is me! i was finally finishing up my previous design plan for my island, and then i started to get antsy and decided to completely revamp it. the worse part, besides the huge amount of bells and moving flowers/trees, is how slow it takes when you're not tting. there's only so much you can do in one day.

You are definitely stronger and more patient than I am ; o ; I always TT to get stuff demolished and built I need instant gratification!!!

oh, trust me, i'm not. i ended up tting 3 days back and forth just so i could move all my villagers to a different location. they were in the way of everything! i'm now back to day by day for remodeling, but the instant gratification of moving everyone was worth it lol

OH LOL well I do feel a little validated then haha but still! Good on u for having some patience (atleast a little more than me)

I understand the urge to do something like this. But, I would never do it. My process is more an evolutionary one than a destructive one. I'll change one little corner of my map to be something completely different...but I have no desires to go back to a time when my island was a blank slate. Took way too long for me to finally be happy with it.

Nope.
I might eventually move some buildings/houses around but I'm waiting for the next few updates to see if they will add any more standalone buildings, etc.
I already put a few hours into the game daily just doing mundane tasks like running after my villagers to gift them or shaking trees...
I can't imagine how long it would take to start from scratch.

That is smart 🤔 perhaps I should wait and see if they do add more buildings
Yeah, I'm just worried that I'll move stuff around too much and then they will add a bunch of buildings (I low-key hope they could expand the Island to have actual restaurants/schools/hotels to decorate... one can dream, right?).

I actually did destroy my first island completely after I wasn't really satisfied with how it looked. In general, I would rather destroy certain parts and redesign them before thinking about resetting.
