So i finally got clay the hamster!! Thing is, i was cycling and i didnt even noticed he was in my town until just now when i was checking. I want to keep him. But i didnt welcome him on the first day when he was unpacking. I talked to him though. So will he move out of my town without notifying me?

No. Move outs are random. Talking to them doesn't affect whether they move out or not. Be careful when you time travel. That's how people usually lose a fave villager.

I've heard, but can't confirm, that not greeting them makes them stay longer. If anything I think it's to do with friendship points though, higher friendship = higher chance to be pinged for anything including moving.
