Not finding new fruit or new recipes ??

Hey, so I I’ve put in more then 165 hours into ACNH and I’m not getting any new fruit or new recipes. My native fruit is apples. I’ve found coconuts and pears. I had to ask someone to trade to get oranges and cherries. I’m so sick of the same islands when I go on mystery island tours. I have plenty of bamboo. I’ve had enough spending 2,000 nook miles to buy a ticket just to get the same things over and over again. To top it off, I keep getting the same recipes over and over. Anyone else having this issue?? (I’ve already got 10 residents and kk slider has played on my island.)

Yes, that's because you can generally only get one other non-native fruit and one kind of non-native flower from mystery islands. I have seen a couple people say they got a third island fruit, but it seems extremely rare.

As for DIY recipes, it's pure luck. Some days I get zero new recipes, some days I get four new ones.

Interestingly, I started getting a much higher percentage of new recipes (only one duplicate DIY in three days) since I changed my settings and started playing in Japanese. It's probably just coincidence, of course, but who knows.

DIYs that villagers can give you are tied to their personality type, so having a variety of personalities makes it so that you're more likely to get a variety of recipes (same goes for reactions)
