Not bonding with villagers?

Did you ever have a villager that you thought you would like but turns out, you just didn't bond with them? It's not that you didn't like them or found them ugly, you just didn't feel that "spark", if you know what I mean.

If so, who was it?

For me, it's Rosie. She's adorable and a good villager but I just didn't feel that "spark" with her.

Oh god do I know this feeling.

I have Marshal in my town right now, bought off an awesome friend of mine on the forum. Yeah he's cute and all, but we don't really click. Muffy and Beau are a few others (Beau was my first lazy to ever move into my first town. We were good friends but he moved away. After cycling 16 and getting him back, things weren't what they used to be.)

I had this happen with Doc. I really like cute, nerdy looking characters and he's a really cute, nerdy looking rabbit so I thought I'd love him! I guess lazy personality just doesn't "fit" his look? They should really just implement a nerdy personality one day...But yeah. Poor Doc! I also wasn't too big of a fan of his colors in game. They're a lot more abrasive than they are in the character art. The blue was so bright. It might not have helped that he lived so far away from me.

Beau, Merengue and Marshal. i spent big bells on them and was so excited to get them, but eh it's like what they exceed in cuteness they lack in personality. they were boring. i still have Beau and Marshal but i'm giving Beau away and i'm still not sure abt Marshal tho i prob will end up giving him away.

also Static. he was my number one dreamie and it took me forever to get him and then when i did i felt nothing.

I feel like the villagers I get naturally in my town are the ones I have an easier time bonding with. For some reason if I get them from another town our relationship feels superficial. Erik, Chief and Rosie are my besties, and they all moved in naturally.

This has happened to me with a few villagers, but especially with Freckles. I really like her and it took me ages to find her, but she plotted her house in a really isolated location so I don't normally see her wandering around as much when I'm just running daily errands. That's something that helps me with other villagers a lot, since it means I can talk to them once or twice between tasks or talk to them at all when I don't have a lot of time to play.

She's also a Peppy and I take a really long time to bond with any peppies. Their dialogue is really annoying so sometimes I don't feel like talking to them a lot.

Yep! This happened with me too. I was excited to get Marshal and Merengue but I haven't really clicked with either of them. Merengue is a sweetheart though, which makes it tough for me to want to let her go. Marshal...he's cute, but the smug personality doesn't click with him in my mind.

I tend not to bond well with the second villager of a given personality to move into my town.

For example, my current town had Pietro as a smug, and we became friends. When Shep moved in from a void as my tenth villager (and second smug), I found that I couldn't be as close with him as with Pietro.

I'm not sure why, but this always happens to me. I wish we could have just 8 villagers if we chose to, so I wouldn't have these awkward relationships with duplicate personality villagers.

Julian. Thought I was gonna love him to pieces, it just didn't work out... Don't get me wrong; I still think he's really cute I'm just not as keen as I was ^_^

I had that issue with Kiki, and I still don't really know why. I had her in my old Gamecube version, from back when I was a little kid, and I thought if I tracked her down again it would be this rush of nostalgia and would just generally be super awesome, but she ended up staying cooped up in her house ALL THE TIME and even though she lived closer to me than my other normal villager, I still barely ever saw her.

well, maybe Beau. he's so adorable and I loved him so much! but he's kind of too cute and innocent for my liking....(still love him though lol)
and I could never bond with either diana or Whitney for some reason, but I liked Freya!
