I just decided to do it for reactions. I usually mix it with pitfalls to make it better. From " do you think you're funny with these pitfalls" to " omg u didn't have to!!!" Its just fun.

This is the only thing that has happened to me. I have not evet had any weirdos or rude people on the island.

Noticed more players are AFK now. Awhile back a player was staying in the same spot and another player moved into the water. The pitfall thing would have been better.

The first time someone asked to touch my crown I said yes and left it on my head. Most of the players there are looking for FC and just say mine is full which is true. Some said remove a friend so you can add me.

one reason for this, I've speculated-- because this has happened to me in my own town but never at club Tortimer-- perhaps they've gotten bogged down in a text convo with one of their Best Friend contacts. i have a hard time texting on the DS, it takes me forever, so when a Best Friend starts messaging me and i get into a running conversation, it appears as though I'm afk because my character is just standing there idle...

Heh, I only go there (rarely) for the tours. The disconnections and interruptions from visitors just makes bug hunting too frustrating and is better left to being solo and offline.

In response to the AFK stuff, I will sometimes leave my character on one of the tour chairs, either waiting for someone to go on tours with or just because why not.

I just avoid that whole mess of them getting in their feelings by saying I don't know my FC. I got real tired of people following me around and scaring off bugs out of spite because I wouldn't give them my FC.
