Okay so I've been using Nookazon for the past 3 months. I've had good/bad experiences but however I ran into someone who was very disgruntled. Basically What happened was they made an offer for a Spooky Carriage and they took like 25 minutes to respond. They say how they didn't get a notification. I told them I tried to message them on twitter but their account was suspended. They came and the person was slow giving their payment. They offered 60 Iron Nuggets, 10 nmts, and 500,000 bells. They did give me the iron nuggets, nmts, but when it came to the bells they only gave me 495,000. I had to remind them that they didn't give me the amount. They gave me 4,000 which lead up to 499,000, so I had to tell them again they need to give me 1,000. Then once it was 500,000 bells I gave the Spooky Carriage diy they wanted and they left. I gave them a 3 star review explaining how slow they were and how they were not fulfilling their payment and then they gave me a 1 star review. I've reported them to a mod and I have yet to her from them.

I asked on the Discord server for help and I asked "I filed a report and I still haven't heard back from any moderator. How long does it take for someone to respond to my report" I got an answer and they said "The moderators get a lot of reports daily, and are constantly working on it! Please be patient as they will get to yours soon?" Okay first of all I've waited for like a day and I don't see that as being "soon" almost feels like I have to wait. As if that wasn't bad enough I asked "Should I even contact them if I still don't get any response". The person responds "A day is not a long wait! Your patience is greatly appreciated! I would wait a couple of more days :D". So basically what you're telling me is that I have to wait longer when that doesn't seem all that "soon". This really bothered me. Then someone else says "It took me days/a few weeks to get a respond I think? I kinda forget its been a while but you just gotta be patient!"

Then when I when said "So all you're telling me is to wait long that doesn't seem soon. How soon will it be?" then the person just says "Hey! I'm trying to be positive and help :D The moderators will get to it as soon as they can. Running a discord server/reading reports/maintaining a website is a lot of work!! They are doing their absolute best so please be patient"

At this point I Just got very annoyed and stopped right there. I have to ask how the world can a site like Nookazon be handled by a few people? I mean honestly this is by far the worst help service I come across. That is NOT how that works in real life. You should not have to wait this long to get someone to get in contact with you with a report. All I ever heard is "please patient" I swear the moderators don't even do much to help on this site and a lot of reports go unanswered. Have any of you guys experience this? I am curious to know.

While I haven’t had to report in a long time (the only time I had to was when someone was trying to sell NMT for RLC-a MASSIVE nono on any site) and when I did I never had any real problems. The only time I had a problem was when I think a newbie put something in wrong and I spent an extra hour getting things smoothed out. It wasn’t a terrible problem as it was an item I wanted gone but it was a bit of a pain.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. It's actually pretty common for a wait of at least a few days on websites with a lot of traffic when it comes to reporting something! It's the same with YouTube and Twitch. The reason is they do get soooo many reports probably every second, so it takes some time.

Personally, I don't think a wait of a few days in unreasonable. They have to investigate the report. I can understand why you're frustrated though! :)

Just a side note, I'm very experienced on Nookazon but one time I didn't drop the correct amount of NMTs, I was missing one. It was a total accident and thankfully the person didn't think I was scamming them! They just pointed out my mistake and I apologized profusely. Some people, like me, have dyslexia with numbers so it can be a real struggle. Just something to keep in mind when trading! 🥺

Consider the following:

1. How many moderators are there online at a given time to look through reports?
2. Considering the scope and active user base of Nookazon, how many reports are handled by one moderator?
3. Some reports are more involved than others, so take longer to fulfill.

I understand its frustrating to deal with, but you got to show patience. Things can't be solved in a matter of minutes. In the end, this is a fan-made site handled by fans who are volunteering their time and taking the time out of their day to eventually help you.

Listen I tried talking to a moderator on disocrd and they said this "I'm sorry but it takes several days for a moderator to respond to reports. We are just volunteers so it will will take a while"

Whatever....everyone on that site is so slow to respond these days. Like one time when I was sleeping. A moderator responded to my report around 2:00 AM and I had to explain to them what happened I was already tired and I was really annoyed they would respond to me at such a late time.

People live in different parts of the world, you know. The person who answered you could have just woken up and lived in the UK, or something.

Wait, did they give you a 1 star review because you only gave them a 3 star review, or did they give you a 1 star review for charging an obscene amount for a DIY?

I need the details before I can weigh in.
I'll go into more detail. I was telling the person if they were coming and it took them like 21 minutes for them to reply. You also noticed they said "Can I come" and I told them yes because I just posted the code. I was counting because she gave me 495,000 bells and not the 500,000 that she had offered and I had to remind them how much they gave me. She gives me 4,000 bells and I had to say 1,000 off because it was up to 499,000 bells. Then when she finally gave it to me, I gave her the diy and she just left. Didn't even say "thank you" or anything like that.

Well how am I suppose to know. All I asked is WHEN they would respond but all I get is "please be patient" Is it too much to ask what time and what day does it take for a response?

His original post explains it pretty well.

1. He is selling an item for 60 Iron Nuggets, 10 NMT and 500,000 Bells.
2. Purchaser slowly dropped the incorrect Bells. Seller (Thread maker) kept asking for missing Bells.
3. Seller eventually gets all items, trader leaves. Seller gives trader 3-star rating for being 'slow.'
4. Trader in turn gives Seller 1-star rating.
5. Seller (thread maker) is now complaining that he isn't being served right away after being told by moderators of Nookazon he must wait for a moderator to get around to it.

Hmmm I see. Let me just reflect on this while I puff on my old timey tobacco pipe and stare into the void...

I can imagine the amount of reports they get each day. Furthermore, players live in different time zones. It's really tough to have full coverage considering that they are doing this for free. I don't know how big their team is. However, I do understand why they are taking longer than expected to respond.

For my case, I haven't traded in that site. (I don't see myself going there at all.)

Honestly, one thing that I like about this forum is players here respect each other when it comes to trading. The feedback system is quite nice. I haven't encountered any issues here except for villager trading. (But that's because I wasn't careful checking the other party.)

I've used Nookazon before, mostly for watering flowers, and I can understand how you can find some sketchy people. But at the same time, for future reference, someone being "slow" isn't always the best excuse for giving a poor rating, since the recipient will most likely lash back and then you're stuck in a situation like you are now. Especially the "21 minutes to respond," because some people might have to quickly do something and maybe forgot about it. Some people might fight me on this, and maybe it's because I'm so used to the everyone being so generous and lenient on the Bell Tree Forums, but it usually takes QUITE a bit for me to give someone a review below 100%; I've only done it once and that was because a whole house's worth of items were taken.

As for the moderator, unfortunately waiting is all you can do. It sucks, but that's life. Those admins and mods have other responsibilities, especially during times like these, they're limited in how much time you can allocate. I would say just try to be patient; there are way bigger matters to get upset over, and this is about a review on a fan site for a game about little cute animals :)

Oh yeah "just have more patience" okay whatever you say. I feel as like I heard this for like so many times. Also its not just a game. Because I take my trades seriously because I've been scammed 2 times. Do you think I enjoy waiting long for a trade? There are times I had people "Ghost" me when they never respond to my trades. I remember having to wait 6 hours for this one person to come to my island to give me the item I wanted and by the time the trade was done. I just closed the gates and shut off the game because I wasted all that time waiting. Sure I was doing stuff to past the time but still it left a bad taste in my mouth. That is why I always am quick and fast with my trades. With due respect I get that it takes time to do things but the least people can do is inform me what is going on instead of having to wait so long for a response.

A couple things I want to mention about the deal itself:

1. With the bells, what probably happened is that the user got enough bells for 5 bags of 99k. 99k•5 is only 495k. While I try to have exact change I could see where the confusion happens.

2. Sometimes buyers/sellers can get tangled up IRL. I’ve had times where I place an offer, absentmindedly go off to do chores for 10-30 minutes, and check back because I literally just remembered it. Sometimes I see that someone has accepted, only to retract it five minutes later. I usually give good reviews if a seller is patient, and try my best to be patient myself.

Listen, you're not going to get the instant results you are clearly complaining about that you are not getting. Just wait it out, or move on.

You were given a response: "Please wait until someone gets a chance to review your report."

Then I recommend not using Nookazon. Plain and simple. It's known for ups and downs in trading. That's really all you can do. And before you say it, no, you don't NEED to use Nookazon; there are other sites, such as Bell Tree, that can provide all the trading services you need, WITH the added benefit of using TBT instead of in-game bells of NMTs :)

Also, it is just a game. It's Animal Crossing 🦝

At least you got paid in full eventually, and didn't lose real money. :(

You are lucky in that way.

This, this, this. Life gets in the way. If you're quick with trades, that's great. But people have lives and might be doing trades in-between work, school and chores.
