No snowballs on winter solstice?

Today is the winter solstice in my game(I'm a bit behind I know) and I can't find a single snowball! I have searched my town several times with no luck. Are there no snowballs on the winter solstice? Or holidays in general? Or do they just not appear some days?

Have you tried saving and reloading? It's possible dung beetles pushed them off cliffs or into the river when you weren't looking.

I'll try that. I've been saving a lot cause I've been getting ice furniture from snowmam and I save every time I get one cause I'm paranoid about losing anything. I haven't reloaded but it's about time for lunch so I'll close my game and reload. Thanks for the tip
