I?m a bit nervous, that they will not add any new villagers. I don?t need new species per se (it would be awesome though), but after 2 trailer about NH and still no new villagers showing up, I?m worried. What do you guys think?
They've barely shown any villagers at all. That doesn't mean there won't be new ones. As much as I'd love new villagers, there doesn't need to be anymore, so it's not going to turn down my anticipation for the game. We're still 6.5 months out from the release date. Just be patient. We're probably going to get an Animal Crossing themed Direct sometime before it comes out.
It's way too early to tell. We've only seen maybe a dozen or so of the 300+ villagers that already exist in the trailers. Plus it makes sense to show villagers people know already in early game play. They want it to feel like Animal Crossing. Familiar faces are a smart way to do that.
And remember this is a game in the digital download age... don't panic about content not being there yet because even if it IS absent in the initial release, they can easily add it later.
I'm honestly not too worried about having new villagers to meet the more I learn about NH. In new leaf every villager seemed the exact same and the only difference really was how they looked. They did nothing to help and kind of just walked around being cute.
In NH they are responsible for their home development, can craft, and look like they can just do so much more than in previous games. Even how nintendo portrays them as having as much right to be there as the player is a different tone and makes me wonder how that will affect the animals emotions and interactions with the player. Especially in the beginning I'm wondering if dialogue options will impact the friendship level (for example acting as though you're in charge making the villager annoyed vs treating them as a partner)
If we dont get any new characters I'm hoping it's because nintendo took the time to re-create their personalities to make each villager unique in their own ways and not because they did not want to.
I think that some sort of new species is coming, but I won't be disappointed if there aren't any. I want to naturally cycle through as many villagers as possible this time around and I'm looking forward to getting to know a lot of them on the path to collect dream villagers. The more new ones they add, the more difficult that task would become.
It's still really early in the game play footage they showed us, so I'm not too worried about any new villagers. Nintendo likes to surprise everyone, so who knows? They may show a little tease of new villagers or species once it gets close to the release date. I agree with everyone else though. Bats would be so cool, but really, any new species would be.
I guess if there are any new villagers, they gonna show some of them along with other major information
shortly before the release of the game, maybe in a AC Direct where they gonna introduce them to us.
(Part of me still kinda hopes for bat villagers).
Personally I would prefer that all of the old villagers are brought back before new ones are introduced. For example, it would great to be able to get villagers like Gonzo, Huggy, Woolio, Tiara and others again by random chance and without amiibo figures.
I honestly doubt there’ll be any new villagers this time. After all, we have more than 300 already and I’ve met maybe 50 of them in total. I’d like some new NPCs though!
I think that every Animal Crossing game (except City Folk maybe?) introduced at least a few new villagers, so it's a good bet that New Horizons will have some too. New species, on the other hand, I'm not sure. I don't think that they have ever added a new type of species to Animal Crossing, could be wrong though. If they were to add new species, I would want them to maybe add otters... I love otters. I know we already have Pascal, Lyle, and Lottie, but I want some otters to live in my town!
I think they'll pull of a Pokemon Sword And Shield (Or an Animal Crossing Wild World in a way,) and take like out half of the villagers and add new ones and allow us to get them back. I mean Wild World gets a pass due to City Folk and New Leaf bringing most of them back. Personally I would rather have them have no new villagers and bring everyone else back.
