Yeah, I've always disliked that little bit of dialogue on the train at the beginning. New Leaf in general seems to try to be modern when it comes to dialogue.

Also, wouldn't saying "yo" mean that you're kind of proving that you're NOT very serious?

If you give that response to Rover while you're on the train, your character ends up getting these droopy looking eyes, like they're tired or something lol.

idk, that response makes sense to me because I feel like that's the type of response someone who looks like that would say

I used to say yo a tiny bit, but only really in text messages. It never flowed well off the tongue XD Hope you can continue watching anime soon~friends have been getting me to watch series that arent anime so I havent watched anime for a while either. X<

Yeah, I wish they'd've shied away from adding modern dialogue into the game. It will only date it as time goes on. I can't say there's a lot, though, so it's not too bothersome.

I hear people say 'yo' all the time ironically, for whatever that's worth.

i say yo irl all the time... i think it's just that a lot of people who don't hear it or use it often don't really know when to use it so it can sound awkward, but i've never thought that the "no i'm serious, yo" was very weird. a little weird, but not very, and the crankies use it perfectly afaik
