So I have mostly the same villagers that I had in NL in my NH island, except for a few changes. But I can't seem to bond with Phoebe and Beau this time around for some reason.. I absolutely loved both of them in NL. Phoebe was my older sister and Beau was just so cute and lovable. I have them both again in this island, and they just both seem off? I'm not sure if it's just me. I absolutely love both of them so much, but I just don't get the same feeling I got from them in NL. Maybe it's also because I absolutely hate Phoebe's house this time around with the lava flooring/wallpaper that's affecting it? Just want to know if anyone else feels the same way about their villagers.

I had gotten a few villagers I had in New Leaf, O'hare and Deirdre.
I didnt like either of their houses and O'hare repeated a ton of dialogue I heard from the time I had Raymond and Deidre said all the same things as Flo and I was just,,,not bonding with them lol

They are both my only uchi and lazy so thankfully I don't have the repeating dialogue, but I'm not sure why I can't bond with them again. I do really hate Phoebe's interior though.. it bothers me a lot and I don't visit her home very often.

I had drake as my #1 in new leaf, but I'm not really planning on having him in new horizons, he doesn't match my vibe and I already have a lazy villager on the island.

I don't like Peanut as much because of how the peppy personality has gone a different direction in this game. The whole 'obsessed with being a pop star' thing puts me off. However, I do appreciate snooties and crankies much more than I did in New Leaf, Wild World, and GameCube. All the personalities change a bit between each game and I think that's the main culprit for why some people are feeling this way.

Initially I felt the same way about Beau because I was bothered by his eye color. His eyes were in a subtle color and now he has eyes in an obvious periwinkle color. I didn't notice the color of his eyes before (probably due to the lower quality in NL), but as much as it seems silly, I couldn't vibe with his eyes lol. I don't feel that way anymore though and I'm still attached to him!

I've realized that I find more villagers adorable in this game. I believe some villagers have a better design in NH than in NL (e.g. color - Willow's skin was too pale for my taste in NL, but I like her warm complexion in NH). Also your thoughts about villager houses resonates with me--I check villager houses before I invite them to my island 😂 I try not to

Right? Like Tangy, chill girl.

yeah I didn't have as many villagers from NL as I thought? Julian's the only one :0
I think it's due to both the new villagers and, unfortunately, getting tired of my NL villagers as I've had them for... 3 years now? lol

I'm having less repeats but it was intentional. I wanted to get to know other villagers and see if I could find others I liked. It's definitely working. I found Muffy and Gladys, whom I never had before but adore now.

I have some of my NL villagers in my island right now. Some I won't let go, some I am willing to move. I want to meet new villagers and not limit myself to the same villagers every game.

Yeah I agree, I think I switched out about half of my original NL villagers for new ones in NH. I kept only the ones that I knew I would want no matter what like Marshal, Apollo, and Whitney. I thought Beau and Phoebe I would also want to keep, but I can't bond with them the same as before for some reason and it really bothers me and makes me sad :/
