NL cartridge and digital on same DS

So I see people do this, have a cartridge game and a digital game on the same DS. My question is, how exactly does this work out for you? Does having two lend itself to possible corruption of eithers data? I would really enjoy another town, I'm not gonna lie, but worry about losing the magnificent town I LOVE! Can anyone relay their experiences if you have this set-up? Thanks in advance for all replies

No, you wouldn't lose any data, as far as I know.

It's two separate games, so the data won't clash or anything. The only thing that will happen is that if you TT on one or both saves, the one that is furthest in time will receive any Spotpass mail first.

Cartridge data is saved and read in/from the cartridge. Digital data is saved and read in/from the SD card. There is no relation between the two.

i have 1 cartridge and disgital for like 1month now and i dont see anything happening to my current town i'm working on.

I was thinking about getting a cartridge too as I have the ACNL bundle an have a digital copy, But I don't know if I wanna do 2 towns right now with my busy life and such.
