so you know how there are cameos in nintendo games from other nintendo games? Like Samus' ship in DKC:TF? Or all of those unused cameos in the mario bros superstar saga? Well what if these signify that it is all one universe? Or rather, 2 dimensions?
I know i am missing some(Pikmin, Fire Emblem), but i think this covers most of the basics. feel free to add to it or comment on it below
Mario and Zelda franchise crossovers go far. Like the portraits in hyrule casle in OoT, and link in the Super Mario RPG?Not to mention the running man from OoT and Mario sunshine.
Then there are the interstellar/supernatural series. Star fox and F zero have already crossed over with G Zero and James McCloud in F Zero. And with Samus' ship in DKC AND metroid lookalikes in Kid Icarus link those even moreso. Samus also appears in the Mario RPG, and she even recruited kirby in SSU3 to hunt some metroids, thus linking them. The Octoman character from Fzero also appears ass a boss in a metroid game, thus linking everything.
now for earthbound, pokemon, and animal crossing. These exist in an alternate dimension.
so in the earthbound series, world domination by alien/corporate forces are always a threat. in mother and earthbound, you have to defeat giygas, the alien harbringer of doom. now in the game, you have powers called psi/pk(depending on your country). these are pyschic manifestations of ones energy. now, at the end of mother 3, your entire continent is destroyed.
this then goes into a split timeline. assuming this catastrophy happens worldwide, everyone would be effected. however, with giygas' ship being the cause, the psi energy went on to the inhabitants of the planet. in one timeline, most of the anmals became sentient and it turned into the animal crossing series. in the other, animals still retained their instincts and humans still dominated, becoming the pokemon universe.porkys corporation from mother 3 simply could have just became the company that runs the entire pokemon universe
now, since pokemon like celebi, giratina, mew, and arceus have dimensional abilities, whats to say they cant go into the alternate timeline, get the mother/earthbound crew, or go to the mario planet, thus making Smash
