Nintendo really needs to rethink the location of the power button.

Just saying. I lost several hours of game play today from a slip of my hand.

Anyone else have d'oh! moments in the game?

What's wrong with the placement of the power button? >_>
Seems fine to me, haha.

But to answer your question; Sort of, I'll keep scaring off rare bugs on trees because I've been running too fast -.-

I have had my 3ds since launch and never had that as an issue. I have heard a of few people doing it though.

It's only a slight issue. I've had a few problems with it, but I always make sure to navigate to that "Resume Software" button, so that I only lose a few seconds of gameplay, and not a few hours.

Can't say that I've done that.
I actually struggle to turn mine off because the power button is hard to press. It might just be because of my nails though.

I lost 400,000 bells on the Japanese version doing trips to the island and catching bugs. I was tired and wanted to close the game quickly and pressed the off button. I wasn't a happy bunny. I am very careful now when I exit the game. It's a definite design flaw with the console.

The DS lites power button scared me. I was always afraid I would accidentally move it and turn the game off. I haven't had a problem with the 3DS but I can see why others would.

I haven't had any problems with mine. But I've long been in the routine of exiting games via the home menu before powering off. (No idea why I started that.) Atleast you acn save and continue if you are in the middle of a marathon session of AC.

My only D'oh moments have been constantly clicking the wrong buttons. - mashing B to pick up items, trying to open menu with Y instead of X, and after CF trying to use my tools with L. (I used the nunchuck alot.) I also keep trying to walk with the D-pad.
Everything is counter-intuative for me except taking photos, which I managed 250 of. xDD

YESS I have had this problem! I meant to press "start" to save but accidentally pressed power... I only lost about 10 minutes thankfully, but it was still a wake up call for me :P

As another user said, I have a hard time pushing in the button. You have to push it hard, and then you have to confirm shut off.

I have this issue quite a lot, especially when I am writing out swap notes. I think the original 3DS is too small for big adult hands and so when I go to write anything the side of my hand sometimes hits it >.< very frustrating when you are drawing a note to someone and just got it looking perfect.

This hasn't happened to me with New Leaf yet but it has earlier with another game I had suspended (Etrian Odyssey IV.) I think it's more of a user error than a system thing. I do like that it's not a switch on the side but a button that won't be accidentally pushed when it's in your pocket.

It's the same for me. @_@ When I first started playing, I was wondering why I couldn't pick anything up when it was only just my stupid thumb pressing B B B.

Not sure how a slip of hand leads to pressing the power button. It would take a bit of pressure to push it completely though. It seems alright to me :/

Thankfully, I haven't done it but i have caught my self about to mindlessly press it, thinking it's the start button. If I remember correctly, the power button is in the same location as the start and select buttons on the older systems so that's probably why I seem to want to press the power meaning to press start...

I've had no issues with my power button! I think my only issue is my wifi switch! I keep flicking it!

When I hit the button I went it to panic mode. On the screen it said software closed. Ill have to try it again (after I save of course) and see if there's a resume button I missed.
