Nintendo: How can we make diving more annoying and tedious?

Oh I know, we can make the player slower than molasses while they are swimming in the water, we can make creatures faster than Sonic while trying to flee the player, and on top of that, we can add some un catchable jellyfish to the mix that spawn out of nowhere and sting the player. That ought to do it.

I don't like the cramp we get get from being stung.

I've suffered with leg cramps for years.
It happens at least two times a week at night.

I bought AC to escape parts of my RL, but instead, I get stung, and a leg cramp.

It's like the game is saying "Heya Jon!
Here's a preview of tonight when you go to bed and get one of those crippling cramps!"

Agreed. It's tedious, frustrating and just plain evil. The huge shadow that suddenly swims behind the line even though YOU ARE RIGHT ON TOP OF IT! Sorry, but I find that absolutely infuriating.

Slightly off topic, have you tried vinegar? Works for Charlie horses, no idea why.

There has been talk of an item you can wear that makes you swim faster, not sure if it is true. Might be the goggles or snorkel.

I like to run, and I don't get the chance in RL, as I'm indoors most of the time.

I don't mean drink the vinegar, I mean run the liquid directly onto the cramp area. You'll stink a bit, but you wont be hurting as much.

I've got the lucky hats to avoid tripping.

I mean, swimming and diving would be much more fun, if you wouldn't swim slower than a snail and would
have such troubles to catch specific sea creatures. It's frustrating and I hope they will make it a little bit
better at least in the next AC game, since it's actually a nice feature.
