ok so i took some time off from TBT and ACNL, so i wasnt following e3 so i heard something that nintendo didnt have any new announcements at e3? is this true? and some people are saying e3 was dissappointing, what new announcements were made there?

They did have some new announcements but people were disappointed because the E3 didn't live up to (some ridiculous) expectations.

Some things announced:
-Animal Crossing: amiibo festival - a (free?) boardgame Animal Crossing spinoff for Wii U
-Metroid Prime Hunters Federation Force - a spinoff Metroid multiplayer game for 3DS
-Hyrule Warriors 3DS - a port of the game to 3DS including new characters
-Zelda Triforce Heroes - a multiplayer co-op online or local 3DS game that looks like A Link Between Worlds
-A Mario and Luigi / Paper Mario crossover game for 3DS
-Animal Crossing amiibo line
-Yokai Watch

Also, revealed during E3 time but not the digital presentation:
-Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon
-Chibi Robo Zip-Lash and amiibo
-Bravely Second
-some other smaller games I can't quite remember

As well as more info on Happy Home Designer, Star Fox (actual game footage) and Mario Maker.

People were upset because:
-No full Animal Crossing Wii U game
-No full Metroid game
-No full Paper Mario Wii U game
-other games they wanted

Man I'm reading this and boy oh boy was Nintendo ill prepared. If AC:AF and Metroid Prime : FF and a port of Hyrule 3DS were the only notable announcement made by the company at E3, then it deserves all the flak it got. Yup, Nintendo's 2015 E3 is up there with Nintendo's 2008 E3 on the epic failures board.

I think Nintendo had a worse year in 2012 I believe. There was nothing notable I remember except Pikmin 3. There was even a too-lengthy video explaining the Wii U in too much detail, describing what each button was for - "there are ZL and ZR buttons", "two analog sticks useful in shooter games" etc.

I don't believe this year's E3 was that bad - the problem is that Nintendo didn't present it very well. There was also a whole lot of awesome Smash news they revealed in a Smash Direct about Lucas, Roy and Ryu. So if they didn't have that mini-Direct or Smash Direct and reworked their E3 presentations to better show off their games, then I feel like reception wouldn't have been so bad.

There are also still a lot of good games coming out they announced previously - Yoshi's Woolly World and SMTxFE among others. They also said they were focusing on games coming out soon rather than last year - they had shown games not coming out for another year or two which explains why the presentation had less notable/big titles.

I don't think it was that good but I think it could have been and just because E3 wasn't that good, it doesn't mean good games aren't coming out.

Yeah I took a break from Nintendo stuff for a while so I missed all the e3 news, I'm thinking of getting back into animal crossing again. Thanks for the info guys.
