Nintendo Direct: 12.18.2013

Microtransactions in Bravely Default are completely optional and are not required. They were only implemented for those that do not wish to leave their system running in sleep mode.

The EU demo had 30 uses; most of the demo required the game to be open. Furthermore, you won't have any reason to continue playing it after it's 100% complete.

Hyrule Warriors sounds neat, though it looks like the typical button masher. Link is left handed again!!
I hope EU's release of Layton vs. Phoenix Wright means NA has a chance of getting it as well.

Ah. Well I can't have it going in sleep mode either. Got no chance of being able to get anything from streetpass :(. So I guess I'll have to resort to the mini transactions, as long as they aren't too expensive.

Yes, if I recall correctly it was said that there will be ten different abilities in the mode. You can play with four players or up to four players or you can play by yourself. I'm sure you will be able to connect with other friends.

I hope Hammer is one of the ten abilities.

I fanboyed when Rosalina appeared. The trailer was perfect. Well - not perfect, but y'know, if there was anyway to introduce a character (like Megaman and villager. too) it's like that. Nintendo's only adding fuel to Peach and Rosalina's feuds that wiiviewrs occasionally brings up, hehe

I dunno if I will get Hyrule Warriors, I play Zelda for stories and puzzles. If the game includes them (which they probably will, bear with me, I haven't played DW) maybe I'll consider it. It looks great and, if it's not 'the' (hyped) Zelda game, I'm looking forward to seeing what 'the' Zelda game is. Good to see Nintendo is taking advice from fans and aren't afraid of changing the formula.

Mario Kart 8 looks great as usual. I like that cloud stage shown at the end, reminds me of that sky course from GBA

I don't know how to feel about Yoshi's Island X Sonic's Lost World. Nothing bad, obviously, it's just hard to believe that Nintendo and Sega are doing this, when the idea just sounds like a 5 year olds fanfic. Not dissing, honestly, you just wouldn't expect this, well I didn't.

I have to say I was far from impressed. Rosalina and Kirby: TD were about the only announcements that really enthralled me.

Seeing as Hyrule Warriors is being primarily developed by Tecmo-Koei, the guys that actually develop Dynasty Warriors, I have my doubts this is any more than Nintendo pretending to innovate while really slapping Zelda gimmicks into what looks like the standard Warriors entry. It's already been done with TK's Gundam spin-off. As much as I love Dynasty Warriors, the only thing it has going for it is the Romance of Three Kingdoms of charm. Game play was never anything revolutionary; unless you're a fan of mowing down enemies with basic combos and one button special attacks. I don't see a real incentive to buy Dynasty Warriors mechanics again, especially coming off of Dynasty Warriors 8, unless there's major new elements. I'm sure it'll make for a cool, fun side-game I could buy for my younger brothers once it drops in price, but as of right now, it feels like another weak announcement.

MK8 (which looks like barely a departure from 7 to me, but there is only so much Nintendo can update, which is understandable, but doesn't make me more excited than "the next installment") Bravely Default (whose SP system had already been revealed and a game I've already pre-ordered) and DKR: TF really showed little more than was already understood.

Dr. Luigi was a cute idea, but doesn't really sell me, considering there's countless puzzle games that could easily fill that gap, including the original Dr. Mario. NES Remix was a unique concept, though more in a novel sense than something that feels worthwhile.

New Yoshi's Island concerns me, because I noticed a few nods to NSMB in the engine, and everything I've seen of it so far involved recycled environments from the original game and a lackluster musical tunes. I don't want to be sold nostalgia, and considering their major point was that the same director back, I feel like that is exactly what they're selling me. I would have preferred a taste of the game's new features and mechanics.

I'm not saying Nintendo showed bad quality titles, but I certainly didn't get a resounding sense of Nintendo's impact on the industry it's shown in the past this time around.
