Hey guys! I am really leaning toward buying a Nintendo 64. I never owned one as a kid. Most of the time I played it at my cousin's house, but I really love the games and the system.

So my question to owner's of a Nintendo 64 is where did you buy it? I looked at some on Ebay, but I don't know how trustworthy sellers can be. Any opinions?

I still have mine from childhood, but I do frequent a lot of local used game shops in my town. Look for used video game stores or video game repair shops. They usually have that kind of stuff in stock. (And you can test them out in the store to be sure it works. :>)

I've had one since...

well...

before I was born~ :P

I would suggest to look at the Ebay sellers' feedback or search in a Flea Market.

IDK but I would have loved to have gotten one in the past. It looked like it defined the era of home console gaming.

Look for independently owned game stores in your area. I'm sure they'll have anything you're looking for!

I got mine as a Christmas gift when I was like 7. It's still in my room, and nobody is taking it from me.

eBay is an extremely reputable source, sellers are required to say weather or not the system works.

But I wouldn't waste a cent on an N64/Games when there's roms. (Inb4 roms are illegal with a case like N64 you could buy as many games as you want and Nintendo/developers still wouldn't make a cent because you're buying 2nd hand so there's nothing wrong with roms and it doesn't harm the businesses. )

That's how I feel about roms too, but it doesn't satiate my collectors itch. XD

Also it's nice to support local, independently own shops.

Well for me Digital>physical.
There's no such thing like that where I live the only one I even KNOW of is in Georgia/Florida "Game Over!"

I don't have an Nintendo 64. I wasn't really around when they came out. I've always wanted one though.

I love my N64. There's some great stuff on there, games that haven't been topped. Star Fox 64, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Ocarina of Time... The list is rather long. I've also heard that Jet Force Gemini is good.

Look in Goodwills, secondhand shops, pawn shops, used game/electronic stores, etc. I don't if there are any by you, but there's this store called BuyBacks that is really good. If not, there's a site called Lukie Games.

I bought a Pikachu one looonnnnggg ago in my childhood, and I still have it. Is it weird to say I prefer the N64 graphics over the 3DS graphics for TLoZ:Oot? It's just something about the polygons that have such a charming look toward them.

Majora's Mask!

I feel like I should suggest games now, haha.

Super Mario 64
Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
F-Zero X
Star Fox 64
Star Wars Pod Racing
Perfect Dark
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Turok
Diddy Kong Racing
Mario Party 2

keep in mind, I'm only suggesting the ones I have played/own.

My family has had a Nintendo 64 since my oldest sister was born. The only games we still have are Mario Kart 64, Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Stadium 2.

Some advice is that if you can, play it on a CRT and not an HDTV. N64 games look really awful on HDTVs because they display at such a low resolution. If you have a Wii and you can, I recommend getting the games you're interested in there. For $10 they're cheaper than buying the carts and the games won't ook nasty on modern TVs.

I have a N64. However, it was handed down to me from my big sister when I was like 4 or 5.
