Anyone got any weird niche games they'd like to share? Whether it be a hidden gem on an old console, a long lost childhood game that you used to love, or a series not many people talk about anymore, please share!!

I remember owning this series called Spectrobes. Three games in the series; 2 for the DS and the third for the Wii. I remember the first one as being... ehh.... and the rest I barely remember at all. After looking it up, apparently the third game is pretty good according to some old reviews. ..Who knows, maybe I'll try it out again sometime.

Anything you guys got?

Okay, so I can't say whether I liked this game or not, since I remember trying it out when I was little and getting frustrated with it, but it's called Dink Smallwood (it's actually not THAT niche, I don't think). But yeah, there was also another early-days RPG that had team-building and the first setting was in a desert-like place, can't remember what it was called... And then also this untranslated (from Chinese I think) game where it was based on a dice-rolling mechanism and there was magic but also urban settings in it, and it was vaguely anime, but omg I can't rmember what it was called

Sunset

Really awesome aesthetic (tm) game on Steam that I was hyped for 5ever until it was released. A bit heavy graphics sometimes, especially if you have an older computer but aside from that it's one of the best games I've ever played. Fantastic story, music and art.

Might require some 60s-70s history/culture/politics interest to fully grasp and enjoy it since it has some references here and there, but yeah for some reason it seems to have been quite bashed for no reason.

YES <3 This is my calling. Except, unfortunately, I'm mostly into the horror genre when it comes to this stuff, but I look forward to what everybody else has to say and hopefully I discover some more strange, lesser known games! I really need to find some more that I can freely play in front of my toddler.

Some of my favorites, mostly horror:
- Rule of Rose (PS2)
- Chulip (PS2) *not horror*
- Siren (PS2)
- Theresia (DS)
- 999 (DS)
- Nameless Game (DS - Japan only)

I loooove going through Steam and picking out a bunch of indie games to try out. Here's a list of the better ones I've played.

-Hatoful Boyfriend
-Spiral Knights
-Skullgirls (Honestly not sure if it counts, but I hardly see anyone talking about it anymore)
-Hylics
-Lucius
-The Stanley Parable
-Viridi

Aha, Skullgirls... I used to play it a lot when it was released but honestly I'm not a fan of those button mashing combo games unless it's on actual arcade machine or stuff :/

Some nice games I've found like that on Steam.

-Guild of Dungeoneering (Nice little rogue like card game.)
-Audiosurf 2 (Rhythm/music based game which generates gameplay based off your MP3, CD tracks, Soundcloud and YouTube.)
-Ibb&obb (Cute little co-op platformer puzzle. Really quite enjoyable to play.)
- Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2. Sadly not on Steam, but was(is) my favourite RTS of all time. Never played another quite like it.

Etrian Odyssey series and Zero Escape trilogy. Etrian Odyssey series isn't everyone's cup of tea as it requires full attention to details and knowledge of it's mechanics. Cartography seem to put most of the people off as majority of the gamers are used to self-writing maps. They also have conditional drops (aka secret drops) that takes trial and error to find (and grinding as well!) Very engaging yet, too much that it's a niche, I suppose. I collected most of the games of this series as I'm a huge fan of grinding (MMO child, used to it since 2001) and extensive/engaging gameplay.

Zero Escape series is an interactive visual novel and well, has quite a lot of puzzles (which I'm bad at) the convoluted time travelling and alternate dimensions kinda makes it weird and confusing but the characters are so endearing and well-written that I have all of it (999, VLR and ZTD). Steam and DS/3DS.

I guess Gex is weird too but in a good way. JRPG/NND game series is a niche too just because not all are Japanese-speakers. One is translated though, "Satsuriku no Tenshi"/Angels of Death (Nico Nico Game series). I'm hoping for a translation of "Higyaku no Noel"/Noel of Mortal Fate (Given eng. title of the creator.)

Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland on the Nintendo DS.

- Construction workers wearing spandex and getting horny after building a bridge.
- Tingle getting high on mushrooms.
- When Tingle donates rupees to the tower, the tower purrs.
- Cartoon-style combat.
- Hiring kids, clowns and even a dog as Tingle's personal bodyguard.
- And Tingle himself is one of the weirdest characters in the Legend of Zelda series.

Lmao, I think I've seen this XD Might buy it if I ever come across it again

We Know The Devil is an interesting game. It's an extremely atmospheric game with horror-themes (it's less of a horror game and more just very suspenseful and creepy, but it's based on horror aesthetics).

Fingered! Sounds weird I know but I saw Vinesauce play it and I became obsessed. Very weird game ahahaha

CAVES OF QUD

procedurally generated tiles-only roguelike. it looks cool as heck despite being tiles only (with basically zero animations). the world is this wonderful mixture of dune and oddball 70s sci-fi, with a decent splash of fallout 1/2. it's really deep, and every playthrough feels like a whole new thing
