I'm about to restart my new leaf town but I'm stumped for what theme to do! I was thinking of doing a kiddie/clown/bright colored theme, like with balloons and fairytale stuff, and villagers like Pietro, and Hugh with his kiddie themed house, but it seemed hard? It's difficult to make the whole town seem uniform with how little pwps and furniture items there are that are brightly colored, and also there are little to no villagers that are bright and it's hard to find out who all has kiddie themes, so I'm trying to think of some other ideas that I could do, or maybe have some help on how to do a happy rainbow town?

I love both ideas. The nice thing about both themes, is it's really easy to make a town bright and colorful. Red, blue, yellow, purple, and orange roses can really brighten a town, and the balloon arch, and that climbing pwp's work well too. You could add a colorful playground.
There are lots of colorful villagers. They may not all have kiddie furniture in their homes, but I think they would work. Plus, you can always send them fun furniture in the mail.
My Sunshine town has Rainbow Brite as the mayor. You can dream visit, if you like, and maybe you'll get some ideas from the house, and landscaping around the house too.

Even if the pwp arent super colorful im sure you can find bright paths to use thatll make it work!
for villagers i think stitches, pietro, astrid, cookie, peaches, fuchsia, jitters, marcel, all the superhero/agent characters, twiggy, or willow would be good.
willow, fuchsia, pietro, jitters, astrid and twiggy are all pretty bright or colorful. pietro and marcel have clown-ish appearances. stitches and peaches look like stuffed animals, cookie just seems like she would be a good fit, and the agent characters could balance out some colors and are pretty awesome for this kind of theme.
julian and drago are also good for a more fairytale kind of idea since drago is a friendly lazy dragon and julian is a unicorn.
