New to ACNL - Question about bells

Bell bloom at the start helps to make a lot of bells.
I set my island up like they show you online. I removed a lot of my trees. I have 3 trees on each side and put them far enough apart. No more scaring the bug ahead. I used shells as a marker but buried it at the right spot.

I made 400K to 500K each trip. Went about 2 to 3 times each night. It goes very fast if you setup your island right.
Grow more perfect trees and look for towns that have your fruit at premium. Having a good group of friends that shares turnip and premium items helps.
It's my 2nd year for the Snowpeople. Snowmama items go for 8888 at regular retail. Find a premium day and sale for double.

Well thanks everyone! I had a very profitable night on my island thanks to your suggestions :D Made about 500k!! I got two hammerhead sharks...woot! I'd never caught a shark before and found the 'listen for the splash sound' trick and caught two. Very proud of myself for that haha

And thank you stitchmaker. This will help for layout. Ended up catching smaller beetles on the grass trees but I'll have to set the tree layout to this. Very helpful suggestion.

I found a guide on it here: http://kotaku.com/the-best-way-to-catch-beetles-in-animal-crossing-new-l-786858471

Not be a mini-mod or a pain in the ass, but discussing this is against the rules.

OP I'd use the beetle method for your first 1m. Then start using turnips to make 10m profits in 30 minutes.

Yo, it's cool. I'm not trying to pick a bone with you either. "Exploiting game glitches for gain is also not allowed." What does that even mean? We have every right to exploit whatever method we want in our own game on our own 3Ds'. I can do as I wish to my personal property. I just simply interpreted the law of these forums different from you. I didn't think it was wrong to mention that option and I did so by providing a disclaimer that it would essentially suck the fun out of AC. That doesn't make it RIGHT, however... If it's too much temptation for other users then you can rest assured I most definitely won't mention it again. The rules were simply not explicit enough for my personal point of view and interpretation.

It was not my intention for ccKyubi or anyone else reading my post to exploit that glitch for blasphemous personal gain at the expense of others, i.e., selling duplicated Japan-exclusive DLCs. Although you could argue some people couldn't give a rat's.

You only want to catch the beetles worth a lot of money. Otherwise, don't waste your time with the other bugs. There also sharks and certain fish that are worth a lot. If you want to make millions, you have to do this for a very long time, going back and forth, make sure it's 7pm when you head to the island, or time travel to 7pm every time.

Does going early in the morning work too? :O

I forgot to mention that that 7 PM time is pretty critical. I don't know about mornings, I jus know before 7 it's a lot of worthless bugs that appear. 7 PM is the magic time.

Also now that ya'll caught my attention about the turnips... I most definitely need to try that soon.

Thanks! I'll probably stick to 7 PM then! I've never played the "stalk market" before...I'd like to give it a go, but I'm always afraid I'll end up with a loss :\

There's also a trick you can use to make about 5 times the bells with beetles and sharks when you have a lazy villager in the campsite. Just google "acnl lazy villager camper trick" and you should find it. It can take a while to do, and campers are pretty rare, but it makes a lot of bells.

My methods:

-Growing lots of perfect fruit trees and selling the fruit.
-Bell Boom Ordinance.
-Catching beetles and sharks late at night on the island.

There are more but they're the little methods like selling seashells, shaking trees, etc.

7PM worked for me. I honestly had better luck around 8PM. IDK if that's significant but I got a lot of big beetles at that time.

Bell Boom Ordinance hmmm! Setting that Ordinance ASAP. Never heard of the lazy villager trick. I'm going to try that next time I have a campsite visitor.
