I really, really didn't want to fall into the Raymond trap... but I couldn't help it.
Raymond and Marshal are definitely my favorites. I've never really encountered another smug I like -- but Kyle looks pretty cool.

I love Curlos’s design. I’m hoping to have him on my island soon. Right now I have Huck, who has really grown on me. Henry and Ken and Shep all have great designs.

I had Lionel in New Leaf for years and could never let him go. He’s unpopular because he isn’t cutesy but I really liked the Smug personality having grandpa vibes instead of flirtatious college kid vibes.

There are so many great smugs! I want at least one of each personality, so I'm bummed that it limits me to three haha. Kidd is my favorite, but Raymond is really great too. Henry wasn't the right fit for me, but he has a nice design if you like frogs. Kyle and Zell look cool but I haven't met them yet. And lots of people seem to like Julian

loove him, he's so pretty and unique but I would be lying if I said he would fit with any island theme.
also people who hate pietro because he's creepy are OBJECTIVELY WRONG. I'm as scared of clowns as the next guy but pietro's a living work of art

People told about Kyle, which is another favorite of mine, so I will make some Henry propaganda: he's small, cute, and a memelord. His personality is very unique, he's different from my other smugs, he's funny and chill. Also hes froggy chair

Absolutely Kyle! He was my first campsite villager in my original New Leaf town and I immediately fell in love with him. Wolves are one of my favorite species and his designed being based on an African Wild Dog made him that much more appealing to me. Marshal and Raymond are also favorites; it's telling that I have all three on my NH island lol.

No love for Klaus huh...So I'm going to say, Klaus, he's my favorite smug! He was my first campsite smug that you have to recruit and wasn't too fond of his design at first... until I realized he was clearly inspired by ancient Rome/Cesar. I love his home, it's so simple yet so elegant, it really works. And I love his roman outfit and gladiator sandals! I'm pretty sure all smugs say some Italian phrases but when Klaus said some to me it made me really happy! (I'm learning Italian atm) I just think he suits the smug personality really well plus his catchphrase is strudel! love it
